I found some old slides scanned sometime ago of myself and one with my late grandmother, my late mums mum, the latter one was taken on a farm in the midlands of Tasmania towards the east coast. Also that is my very first car which my parents bought for me.
The last photo of me in the sea, was taken at Greens Beach which is my header photo. I remember being rather sunburnt so put my beach coat on.
Many years ago I used to own a electronic organ, a full one, and played it half the day and evening until I wore it out. These days the piano takes it's place. I always have had musicals instrument to play from the age of 7 years. Music, singing, arts and crafts were more appealing to me than playing sport.
All these photos were taken in the late 60's as far as I can recall, at that time my husband and I lived in the country on a farm about 30 minutes from the city which we live in now.
You look very glam at the organ. So many people had electric organs at that time. Is the car a Morris Major or Morris Elite?
ReplyDeleteThanks :) You will get on!
DeleteIt was a Morris Major I believe.
Margaret, you have found great photos from the past. You look lovely playing the electric organ.. You are definitely gifted at music. and the car I have never seen this model before..
ReplyDeleteThank you Gosia. I love music as most people do.
DeleteGreat old photos. You have talents I didn't know about, Pretty good legs too.
ReplyDeleteAAH!! You :) Didn't tell you both everything....so keep watching and looking :)
DeleteAnd thanks.
Fun old photos. I started playing piano at 8, then organ. We always had an electronic organ in our home, first my father's, then in mine later on. Finally the tubes were too hard to find. When my mother died a number of years ago, I bought a baby grand and play it as often as I can. I had to go back to take some lessons to get back on track with timing, etc. But I enjoy it immensely.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful. I play classical music, it takes much practice.
DeleteWhat a cute little car. I hope you had wonderful adventures together! I got a digital converter for my slides for Christmas and can't wait to see what gems I have had stored away all these years!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, my car and I did :) we drove all over this Island, and later when married too. Hope you enjoy your sides, you never know what will turn up.
DeleteI love looking at old photos
ReplyDeleteSo do I J0-Anne, and it doesn't matter who's photos they are, they are all interesting to me.
DeleteAnd there are precious memories !
ReplyDeleteThere are Wong :)
DeleteGreat photos from the past Margaret - when I look at old photos of me I find it difficult to think that it was me, it feels as if I am looking at someone else. You had lovely black hair.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosemary.
DeleteI feel the same as you do about looking at old photos of myself.
I'd be rather nervous getting up (and down) that road!
