You see some funny things at times. I've collected a few 'things' as I'll call them and hope you enjoy. So something very different from me today.
The Alpaca walking through the carpark at the supermarket down the road. We have to remember this is a city, a suburb actually and I've never seen someone walking an Alpaca through the carpark in the middle of the day - makes me wonder just how far this pair have walked. It took my fancy! I just had to take a photo.
The sign above is in the lower eastern side of Tasmania.
The one below amuses me as there is no water!
This is an old sign meaning to look out and not run over a Tasmanian Devil if you should happen to see one or two.
The top sign is off the net as is the bottom one which is rather old.
The last picture is absolutely wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favourite Anne.
Delete:-) Fun!
ReplyDeleteYes it is fun Angie..
DeleteThanks for all the odd things you've come across. A lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteSomething different from my normal posts Denise.
DeleteMargaret, how did that alpaca get to Australia? Since it is a camelid that lives in South America. It lives in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Argentina but is currently also present in countries such as the United States, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand as a result of its introduction in the 1980s. Despite this, 99 percent of alpacas live in South America.
ReplyDeleteAustralia has rather large alpaca farms in many of it's States which Tasmania is one of them. From the internet Norma......*The history of alpacas in Australia can be traced back to the early 1800s. During this time, European settlers recognized the potential of alpacas for their luxurious fleece and began importing them from Peru and Chile. The first alpacas arrived in Australia in 1858, primarily to populate zoos and private collections*. *Also Australia has the second largest herd of Alpacas being Peru*.
DeleteHope that helps Norma.
Funny signs and captures.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a zoo employee.
Guess she does as she dressed for the occasion, we do have a small zoo but it's the other side of the city and a fair distance out. Good signs for me too.
DeleteForget to mention: love the header!!
ReplyDeleteThank you...The Tamar River here in Launceston.
DeleteAn odd look of odd looking photos, don't see many alpacas here and by here I mean around my shopping centre as I know that Australia has a large alpaca industry.
ReplyDeleteFirst one I've ever seen in the shopping center here Jo-Anne, always a first..lol
DeleteLove the humours of the memes and the signs.
ReplyDeleteSomething different from me for once, totally different.
DeleteAme al gatito y a la alpaca, Te deseo un genial fin de semana. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I always liked the kitten on the laptop.
DeleteA little alpaca.
ReplyDeleteMaybe once there was a reason to tell people to not water ski.
Yes Andrew, there was no water..lol probably once there was but shallow.
DeleteI have friends here at the Terrigal Pub who breed Alpacas on their
ReplyDeletesmall acreages.
Besides their spitting antics they are very friendly.
Cheers
Colin
They are a lovely looking creature and yes they spit if they get upset and frightened, so it's said.
DeleteI forgot to mention - that sheep and poultry farmers - the chooks being on acreage - the alpacas are the protectors from foxes.
DeleteThey are a great asset for the farming community.
Cheers
Colin
Didn't know that Colin, but that is wonderful there is something to protect them, we don't have Foxes down here, they the authorities thought we did and demanded a lot of money to search for one or two but never found any.
DeleteVery nice photos, is Break-Me-Neck hill a steep one? Love the alpaca.
ReplyDeleteI don't consider it a steep hill R...there is also another hill called Bust Me Gall...lol The Alpaca is cute.
DeleteWe have a miniature version of the Devil sign hanging on our front door. Got it at a garage sale some years ago, and now it belongs on our front door. No Alpacas, though.
ReplyDeleteInteresting you have a Tasmanian Devil sign, it really must have taken your fancy..
DeleteWhat beautiful photos, it's nice to photograph something special every now and then.
ReplyDeleteThe first and last photo are my favorite.
Greetings Irma
I too love those two Irma, and it's good to have a bit of fun.

ReplyDeleteRead my new blog post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/03/the-leading-industries-causing-health-damage-to-young-people.html
Yes through the carpark, looked very funny I can assure you.
DeleteThere are signs in the areas where Tasmanian Devils are known to be, a few have died walking across the road in the night time apparently.
It's nice you enjoyed seeing these odd things.
Fantastic captured.
ReplyDeleteThe sign not to go skiing is intriguing when you can't see any water there.
The last photo with the kitten is so cute.
Thanks Maria. There once was water there in that area, the sign just hasn't been taken down..lol, it is funny to see it there, the sign.

DeleteOh my there must be quite a story behind the lady walking an alpaca.
ReplyDeleteThere probably is a story behind her, must ask at the supermarket have they seen it before, maybe it's a regular thing.
DeleteOops - spelling major spelling mistake APL - should be AFL !!!
ReplyDeleteGood God the fans would have burned me at the stake - ha ha!
"Love the newly shown AFL "Tasmanian Devils" uniforms as shown on TV sports this morning. Maybe you should proudly show them on a blog report. About time Tassie footballers were given the recognition that they so richly deserve.
Cheers and go the Tassie Devils"
Colin
lol...you and your ALP! you are forgiven :)
DeleteMaybe I should do a post on our Tasmanian Devils team, they haven't acquired their players as yet, just the uniform.
Me han gustado todos, siempre se ven cosas interesantes. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Teresa and that's true.
DeleteAlquanto particolari le fotografie che ci proponi con questo post, soprattutto la prima dell' alpaca portata passeggio.
