The Don Heads, Devonport.

Monday I set off to Devonport by myself in the car to fulfill an appointment with the Financial Advisor, just the yearly visit.  I then called into the Graveyard and visited my parents at the Mersey Vale Memorial Park, then onto get something to eat, a seafood sandwich and had my own water, stopped on the side of the road and ate it. Then I drove around a bit deciding which way to go home,  headed to Railton to Elizabeth Town and home.  On the way down to Devonport there were traffic stops galore due to road works so going home they were avoided.  It was 30 deg C..so a warm day, by the time I got home I'd done 250 km.

These photos were taken of the Don Heads a while back and the sea is Bass Strait. There are many walks to be had in that area.

Coles Beach just around the corner from the Don Heads.

The road I took to Devonport is in red/top then bottom road in red to come home.

  2. 250 km is still a long journey, but you did everything and it went well, that's what's important.
    Fantastic photos.

    1. Yes it's good to travel safely and arrive home in one piece as we say Maria.
The journey didn't seem to be 250km but then with a good break inbetween I guess that's why.
      Thank you.

    1. Yes that's correct, and it's a city now been one for awhile, but it's very small city and of course where I live it's a small city too but larger than Devonport.
Thanks, it was a calm day. I used to own a house over looking the sea there and it was often calm and beautiful.

    1. It was calm that day Andrew, many days were calm there in Devonport when I lived and travelled there to take of my late Dad...always I seemed to choose lovely days.

    1. You are welcome re map Denise, I often forget the map as the location is at the bottom of the post, but seeing I went two different ways I remembered the map :) Lovely to walk there you can go for a very long walk along the beach and sea front for several km or miles.

  16. That sunset in the 3rd photo is really lovely.
So many of the names on the map are English towns, even 'Devonport'. I think we should start collecting some royalties from Tasmania. hehe!!
Good luck with your financial advisor.

Many towns named after England, Scotland and Ireland guess it reminded the early settlers of their native country. If you look on a map of Tasmania you will see so many names you are familiar with.. we here on the Island have the oldest golf course in Australia at Bothwell, Tasmania.

  20. Once again I can admire such wonderful views. You're right, these are perfect areas for long walks, especially when the sun is low above the horizon, then the effect is unique. The last photo is wonderful!
