Ross, Tasmania

About a week before Christmas 2021 we left our house with a son in charge of watering the garden, mowing lawns, not that they grow much in summer, cooking for himself (the oven wasn't used), I think he bought food home often!

We always go down the Midland Highway as it's called through the old towns.  A few photos taken on the day we left at the old town of Ross, Tasmania, Australia.
The usual photo of the
Ross Bridge and the Macquarie River which used to flood but hasn't for a very long time.
The usual curry scallop pie for lunch.
The Post Office which was opened in 1832, the Bridge was completed in 1836.
The house in the last photo is typical of the old houses in that area.

  3. I really like to walk with you through different routes in Australia, a place that I would like to know and that they say is geographically very similar to mine Argentina

    1. Oh we did Rosemary. I can't imagine staying in a B&B or Hotel for a month, yes a week would be ok but the caravan enables one to travel a different way/style for a change.

  8. The last house without eaves in the cooler climate. The post office looks wonderful with such richly coloured stone.

    1. Can get away without any eaves down here, they were in fashion a few years back but not so much now. It's a great Post Office, it always looks nice.

    1. If you like scallops a pie is for you. It's just a normal pie with curry and scallops inside and a bit of what tastes a like white sauces and gravy of course curry.
