A few photos from our caravan in the Huonville Caravan Park before Christmas 2021 and you can see there are not many caravans or motor-homes, however it was about half full for Christmas Day, and later totally full just after Christmas.
There two photos of the murals were taken just before the Office.
The Boom Gate to go in and out, the park has fences all around except by the river. The other photo is of one way we cook outside the caravan, in this instances we were boiling cornbeef to have cold for Christmas Dinner and Tea along with Turkey which was in the oven inside the caravan. We in Australia are used to having cold meals for Christmas such as cold meat and salads. When I'm having Christmas Dinner at home we usually have a hot meal unless it's very hot weather.

Boat to the bank where the sand is.
There are barbecues and fire-pits scattered here and there for people to use free of charge.

The park looks really nice...perfect for camping!

There are many people in Australia who love to travel in a caravan because they can come and go whenever they like, stay longer in places is a bonus with their own accommodation. Then there are people who prefer apartments for holidays or motels. We have done the later two many times also.

Always green there, never seen it any different..so different from many caravan parks within Australia that we've stayed at, many are just dirt or dust due to no rain.
DeleteI'd rather have a hot meal for Christmas, but a cold one is practical.
ReplyDeleteIf you've always had a hot meal then that is what you are used to and it probably wouldn't seem like Christmas Dinner unless you did have it. We are used to hot weather and cold meal mostly..

DeleteIf it was summer weather here on Christmas Day I would not bother to have a hot turkey dinner either, but would be far happier eating cold meats and salads.

DeleteWhen I was young, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I enjoyed comfortable camping a lot. Gradually campgrounds became less pleasant with less room between sites and an increasing amount of noise pollution from various types of music and TV. The place you are showing us seems quite nice.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness we don't encounter those things these days except on occasions at some caravan parks with cramping. These days no noise after 10pm, no running onto or into others space. TV are not to be loud...all these things and more are monitored by owners of the parks or their staff...it's great these days..

I think autumn has begun with you, spring has begun here. Wonderfully all the birds are singing again and the trees are blossoming, I enjoy that so much.
For me spring is the most beautiful season than autumn and winter summer comes last, I don't like the heat hence.

ReplyDeleteWe always stayed home for Christmas to have it with all the family, then my husbands parents passed as did mine and then eldest son and his family Christmas time was the only time he could take off from his business, so we all ended up going away for the past few Christmas's.
