A view of Lake Dulverton, Oatlands.

All the photos are taken at Lake Dulverton in Oatlands and this was our view from the caravan and also when we sat outside. Some of the photos are zoomed in all the way without a tripod.

Amazing, the day we left Lake Dulverton Margaret Attwood the author of The Handmaid's Tale a TV Series, and of course other books, Margaret popped out of a car as we drove off.  Margaret had been in the Hobart area for a few days attending some convention for authors.

Coot and below two plovers.

  1. It is interesting that you should choose this post for so many bird pictures, having met Margaret Atwood, who is herself a dedicated birder.

  2. Beautiful birds! I don’t see them where I live.
You saw M. Attwood. What a coincidence!

    1. Definitely a coincidence, one would recognise her anywhere. Had seen a few photos of Margaret in the newspapers here with a floppy hat on back then.

  3. Son buenas vistas del lago. Las aves le añaden un gran atractivo y algo más de vida.

  4. It looks a beautiful area - and I love the topiary (I assume it is topiary).
I am not certain I would recognise Margaret Atwood, despite having read and enjoyed many of her books.

    1. Yes it's topiary, saw them when they first they first took shape wondering what they would be, they have added to them overtime.
No trouble for me to recognise Margaret, photos had been in the paper a few days before with a floppy hat on, a small one.

  5. Great images. The birds are beautiful and nice to see. My wife read Attwood's book years ago. I didn't realize it was a tv series now.

  7. While clear shimmering lakes make for great photos, it is good to see one with reeds which will support a lot of lake life.

  8. Great photos - your pair of plovers is good. We have pairs of them here - well they are pretty well all over Australia - and it is nesting time.
That means STAY CLEAR of them - they attack and no Stukka/Spitfire/Zero was as vicious as an enraged plover. They like ears!!!!!
    Cheers

    1. Plovers were safe at that time of year thank goodness, they certainly can be troublesome at times to us.
      Thanks

    1. Thanks Nancy.
The header photos is not the same place. We have a river called the Tamar River and it's on a bend that the blogger header photo was taken.
The Tamar River goes out to sea, to Bass Strait.
