Franklin, Tasmania

Came through Franklin on our way back to Huonville after the daily drive south.
Franklin is a small village on the western side of the Huon River in the south-east of Tasmania, between Huonville and Geeveston.

There are a couple of Island between the two shores, Egg Islands.

On the way into Hobart Tasmania's Capital City in the south.

Hobart's Town Clock

We are on our way home to the north of the Island.

  1. I particularly like the first photo with its sky filled with fluffy white clouds, the boats reflections, and the grasses along the shore.

    1. Such a nice spot there, we discovered there is a low cost caravan park near those boats and I've seen some beautiful photos of reflections, evening time and early morning..

  7. The countryside isn't as green as I would have expected and I am sure the farmers would like it much greener.
Very picturesque trip, Margaret - your promotion of the "Apple Isle" should be rewarded.

  9. Egg islands? Are they egg shaped or do the birds go there to nest?

  10. I was going to ask the exact same question as River. We stayed in Elizabeth Street very near to the Post Office Clock Tower. It is a very fine building.

    1. Beautiful building. I have lived in Hobart 3 times when a child, had my first tram ride from Moonah to Hobart, lost my return money :) but a policeman took me home and he turned up the next day for duty and my dad was his boss :)
