Sunset and trees

The Caravan Park sunset with the palm trees, the park was nearly empty most mornings by 10am and filled up by 5pm most days.
At the moment Mackay is having flouds. Australia is such a diverse country, one end of it has floods, the other end bush fires.

The beach below is just around the corner from Black Beach as you can see the tide was out.
The boat looks worse for wear, but I guess someone loves it.

  6. Would loveto know how the hell that cruiser got there. Maybe smashed up in a cyclone
and is too damaged to put back into the water???
My God those floods up there in the north..........thank God we have been spared the sight of all those cattle drowned out west........300,000 dead.
The attitude of the cattle people is astonishing and typically Aussie..... they
de-stock to save fodder from the drought and now that area is like an inland brown ocean! Resilience above the ordinary, eh?
    Cheers

    1. Amazing people are the outback people. Saw photos of the devastation of cattle around Cloncurry in Queensland, always cops the floods there, so very flat like so many other places in Australia..
The cruiser was moored so I presume the high tide comes up to it.

    1. Amazing to see palm trees amid our natives.
The boat was moored so expect the tide come right up to it and beyond.

    1. Rosie I'm sure Townsville will rather poorly when you visit as it takes a long time to recover from such devastation..

  10. The boat looks high and dry, waiting for a flash flood to set her afloat. Love the trees in the final photo.

    1. Thanks Andy, it's not often I'm near the sunset when travelling - even though the sunsets not always in a position to see it.

  13. It's a strange city, Mackay....it's set in a beautiful area...the Coral Sea and Whitsundays...."just there" at its fingertips...the Pioneer Valley and Eungella...but, there's something about it that rankles...and I don't know what it is....
