Plants in autumn

A few plants growing in our garden and a tree across the road in autumn.

Had two shots on different days taking this miniature daffodils that has just begun to bloom here at home in autumn.  The photo was taken on a windy day so therefore a bit blurred because I didn't used the correct setting, well I at least tried to but didn't pull it off.

Across the road, the Crab Apple in autumn leaves.
The Launceston City Council planted this tree along with several different species of trees on the natures strips, many died due to lack of water (not the households responsibility), many people pulled the trees out as they were not wanted on their nature strip.

    1. It's a relief to have it a little cooler even though we don't have a long summer like you do.

  6. "Shanks" is quite a gardener.
Certainly has not lost any of his horticultural skills.
What's "Shanks" like in the pruning of bottle brush trees?
My tree for my pair of sometimes over-friendly loorikeets - "George
and Georgina" does need a trim as the noisy pair keep reminding me.
I am sure a pruning would improve the bowel (constant) movements
    of "G & G".
Cheers and good to know that you had a great Mother's Day.

    1. Shanks is still ok pruning and no he hasn't lost his skills.
We are having a new front lawn, at the weekend we had our Landscape son removed all the old lawn, soil bought in and flattened in readiness for instant lawn most likely Friday!
      Thanks regarding Mother's Day :)

    2. Thanks. It doesn't look like the one we had. Ours had much softer pink flowers and a wider spread, rather than vertical.

  9. The daffodil shots are very pretty, the slightly blurred background makes the blooms stand out.

    1. Always aim for a blurred background if only need to show one bunch or bloom...usually works.

  11. Those white miniature daffs are exquisite! I haven't had the pleasure of being introduced to them before, I will have to hunt the bulbs out here in Melbourne.
