The two photos below, 1st one of a small area of the Caravan Park, then the Poinsettia next to the amenities block.
All photos were taken in Mackay, the orchids taken with my phone.
The car park next to the orchid building, our vehicle is the black one.
Many people told us to visit the orchids, we were disappointed as we had seen better on our travels.
Thank you for sharing these blooms. Your photos are so clear. I enjoy being a part of the travel you both enjoy so much. It's my way of seeing the world! Have a nice new week. xo
I do love orchids. And even succeed in growing some. But yes, I have seen better displays. That poinsetta on the other hand is probably the biggest I have seen.
Well that's lovely you grow orchids. There was a man down around the corner who grew them, one day he stopped me as I was walking and told me what was a great orchid - how they should appear to be judged at a show, interesting. Lovely tree that poinsettia.
They look pretty good to my eyes. I guess they are in a heat controlled environment??? That poinsetta is fantastic. Your documenting this trip of 2016 brilliantly - take a bow, Madame. Cheers Colin PS: Maybe take more than one bow, eh? ha ha.
I have photos somewhere of much nicer orchids Colin, more variety than what was on display. Orchids up there are not in heat control, however, that would depend on the variety. I do like that poinsettia as never seen one for large. Thanks :)
your phone take brilliant photos dear friend! these orchids are beautiful. flowers are delightful treat to eyes. your posts are fun virtual tour to the beautiful places that were unfamiliar to me . thank you so much!
Orchids are very pretty to look at, but I'm not overly enthusiastic about something so delicate and difficult to grow. I love the poinsettia and that very healthy maidenhair fern.
They are ok but certainly not one of the best displays I've seen. Mildura in one of the shopping centres a few years back had a 'show' they were beautiful.

ReplyDeleteThe maiden hair is huge, we have trouble growing them inside at home here.
DeleteJudging from your photos I would say the visit was well worth it.
ReplyDeleteIn a way it was, but we were expecting something spectacular and that didn't happen.
DeleteYour photos, as always, are lovely. :)
