Guest in the house!

My husband and I have his youngest sister staying with us, she is in between moving house, so has been with us for 3 weeks now and probably another two.
This week the 3 of us are going to her new house for a per-purchase viewing, so hence the Electrician is going to meet us there, and then the painter and hopefully before she moves in all things will be done.

Youngest sister in law is a pleasure to have as a house guest, she calls our house the 'Hilton on Trent' which has us laughing.
The other evening we had my eldest sister in law and her husband for dinner, so we had Turkey with baked vegetables plus boiled ones, I lost count of how many varieties I had. We had a wonderful chat with much laughter and a late night.

Having travelled as normal backwards and forwards to my dads house in another city, it certainly is a busy time, but I do enjoy all that I do.  The computer being a good relaxation for me.

    1. Thanks. Sister in law is hoping everything is done before she moves, and will no doubt stay with us until it is.

    1. I have no brother's or sister's. My husband has the two sisters and we all get on very well, so yes, I am lucky. Plus my sons and their wives, I get on well with them too.

  5. Hello:

Although having visitors to stay does involve extra work it can also be enormous fun. And this is clearly the case for you with the visit, or extended stay, of your sister-in-law. Your turkey dinner sounds delicious - we simply adore roasted vegetables!!

    1. Extra work but I don't mind that, it's wonderful that my sister in law wants to stay with us, and might I add continue until her house is ready to move into :)
The turkey dinner was lovely, might do a repeat for the family for Easter :)

  6. You are obviously a very good hostess running the Hilton on Trent but it must take a lot of time and energy. It is obviously much appreciate by your relatives. I know that you also do a great deal for your father too.

    1. Rosemary,
We have a lot of guests come and stay with us from time to time, all family. I recall one year the bedrooms were hardly empty before the next guests/family arrived. It goes like that sometimes. One great thing is, we do have fun and very relaxed in having our guests. One chef, that keeps the peace :)
Yes, still looking after my dad as well, and driving over 1 hour to his house each week.
