Something I don't see often!

A cold snap and I looked out the window to see the lowest mountain in the distance with snow on it!
I have only been in snow about 1/2 dozen times in my life as snow doesn't fall here where I live, it only falls on the mountains for a short period of time. When we see snow on Mt. Barrow we know it's cold.  Today the highest was 11 DegC (52 degF) in the city.

I took a few photos with my old DSLR the Canon one with the telescopic lens. Black & White Photos look like they have more snow but that's not the case.

  1. I doubt my city would even get snow if we weren't so close to the mountain range

  4. Glad you have had some snow to shoot - it always makes a photogenic picture, and exciting that you have seen it so rarely.

    1. I expect you are used to snow in your winter. I often think what would it be like to have a white Christmas instead of us being in the heat.

  6. The layers and shades in your first pic are sensational!!! I'd usually choose the monochrome version over the colour - but in this case I'd make an exception - the colours really set off the snow beautifully!! Like you, I've only experienced it a handful of times, so it's still a novelty!! I guess the really cold weather has some advantages after all!

    1. Thank you. Depends on the scene or situation whether to use monochrome or colour. Different scenery in cold weather.
