Houses

Stanley houses.  The road is very narrow one vehicle wide, photos were taken from the car window to the best of my ability, further down the same road it became wider so out of the car to get better shots.

Most of the houses would have been built in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Stanley last week won the Tasmania, Australian Tourist Award for under 5,000 people and will compete for the Australia Award later in the year.

This house is the birth place of Joseph Lyons who was The 10th Prime Minister of Australia. Joseph was born in 1879 died in 1939. The above house is a tourist attraction.

Beyond Arthur River

First photo is the mouth of the Arthur River  Tasmania Australia, looking towards the Southern Ocean.

The next lot of photos is the terrain on the way back to the caravan park - such wilderness and lonesome road.

The Arthur River.  There is a bridge which isn't very wide but wide enough, no footpath so I had to be careful that no traffic was coming - Murphy's Law one did come.  The little hut or shelter is a rest area by the river for the traveller to get out and walk around if they wish and there are picnic tables within as well. Sword ferns in the photo above which readily grow on the side of the road and in the bush.  You are not permitted to take these ferns.
