We often go to Bridport, or maybe we just end up there. It takes just over an hour to get there in the car. There are a few ways to go and same return.
We bought some hot potato chips from the fish and chip shop about 4pm and then took them down to this view and ate them. We arrived home well after dark.
You can see Bridport at the top.

Beautiful place. It's nice to go on day trips somewhere.
ReplyDeleteYes it is good to wander off now and then, Anne.
DeleteWas für wunderschöne Möglichkeiten für einen Ausflug du hast. Ich stelle mir vor, wie auch ich dort sitze, eine Kleinigkeit esse und träume.
ReplyDeleteCertainly all worth it, it was such a calm day which made it even nicer.
DeleteKrásné a pro mne hodně zajímavé místo. U vás je to naopak - máte podzim, my na severní polokouli máme jaro. Jednodenní výlety jsou výhodné. 👍
ReplyDeletePřeji příjemné dny, Margaret.
Yes it's autumn and even in winter we go for a day drive somewhere as the weather is usually alright except on what I call a dreary day :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful and relaxing place! Bet you had a great time :-)
ReplyDeleteYes Angie we did have a lovely time, the day trip wasn't planned, and they often turn out much better than planned ones.
DeleteDear Margaret, what gorgeous photos of this lovely place! I also love your blog background, dear friend! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. I'll probably change the background at some stage if I think of it.
DeleteSchöner Ort für einen Ausflug.
ReplyDeleteGruß
Noke
Yes Noke, it is lovely there. Very busy place in the summer and school holidays though.
DeleteYour pictures are so nice. Thank you for sharing this, such a pretty place.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary. Nice being by the sea on such a beautiful calm day.
DeleteI like that they left the old pier pylons in place. As well as looking nice, I'm sure plenty of sea life is attached to them.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there would be plenty of sea life there at the old pylons, I have a photo at sunset of the same scene on one of the bedroom walls.
DeleteOh Margaret I see why you "end" up there. It is a lovely place. I do like how you changed your ribbon to the ribbon of hope. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nicole. That Ribbon of Hope has been there for a very long time :) it's just that we don't always notice it as it's on the side, however the Lupus on stands out more :)
DeleteWhat was the purpose of the Jetty?
ReplyDeleteIs that muck washed up on that beach?
Photo 3 would suggest a boat launching place.
Miserable weather here at Terrigal.
I think only the "ice-berg" swimmers will be in the surf - which for the
past 4/5 days has been absolutely flat and to get a breaker you almost
wade out to the "land of the Haka".
Cheers
Colin
The old jetty was used to ship timber to Melbourne and Adeliade, 1913-1925. In 1938, arsonists set fire to the part of the pier, another fire in 1941 finished it off.
DeleteIt's not muck, looks like dried old seaweed washed up and broken down with time.
No 3, yes a place to put your boat in the sea and go fishing or for leisure.
Long way to go to get a good wave. The weather has been mild here with beautiful sunny days but of course cooler evenings and nights, Colin.
That's my idea of an outing. Fish and chips by the sea. Looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes Diane and ideal place to sit and eat enjoying the calm view.
DeleteOh if those old pilings could talk, what amazing stories they would tell.
ReplyDeleteWell if only they could talk R. Lots to tell there.
DeleteWonderful, can there be anything more beautiful than a path that quickly takes you to the destination where you enjoy the beauty.
ReplyDeleteThe car is similar to mine, if it's a Hyundai :))
Good morning, Good day I wish!
The SUV is a KIA :) Always beautiful to be by the sea when the weather is favourable.
DeleteNothing quite like fish and chips by the sea. They never taste half as good anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true Pauline and I miss the newspaper they were once wrapped in and making a hole at the end..lol
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place to go for a day every now and then.
I wish you a lovely Wednesday evening.
All the best, Irma
Thank you Irma, the day was good.
DeleteI forgot to compliment the blog design, I really like it! These colors brighten even the worst day and give some momentum for the future, thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. The background is nice and bright as it reminds me of the colours of our autumn. There is only one plant that is native to autumn here all the others that change colour are introduced :)
DeleteMuy bella serie de imagenes, amiga.
ReplyDeleteFeliz dia
It's a wonderful view by the sea. It looks so peaceful and quiet there.
ReplyDeleteWalking along the beach eating chips out of paper wraps reminds me of the 1960s :) It was not just cheap, but fun as well.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous spot. I bet the chips were good, too.
ReplyDeleteamaze amaze amaze
ReplyDeleteQue bonitos lugares, en otoño además, por aquí estamos en primavera y a la espera de ese caluroso verano que nos suele acompañar todos los años.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
Hello Margaret, You made a great photo of the tree, which has already lost its leaves. Such a peaceful place. It's typical of Autumn
ReplyDeleteHere in the UK we also have a Weymouth, Lulworth and Bridport!
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs of your trip down to your Bridport and many thanks for the map.
All the best Jan
Hello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place. Wonderful these pictures.
Very nice with that tree.
Many greetings,
Marco
What a great place to eat some salty chips :) chips with a view, love it!
ReplyDeleteThat’s my idea of an outing too--fish and chips by the sea, simple and perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so lovely there, especially with the calm autumn light.
