A few flowers from the garden in winter and spring. The below flower attracts the bees, and this plant was shifted from the front garden to the back one, it's called ?rose and for the life of me can't think of it's name. It has flowered all winter.
I've never grown tulips before this year I planted two colours red and yellow, the yellow hasn't come out as yet and it might not. We used to go to the tulip farm along the north west coast, you will find a post here of tulips grown there.
We moved the Irises in late summer to a different area in the garden, they are doing better but the wind knocked them about.
I love this coloured daffodil.

Love irises! What kind of plant is your new header?
ReplyDeleteThe irises are pretty. Header flower is Wattle..
DeleteHow gorgeous, Margaret!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteYour flowers are very beautiful. I love the pale blue iris.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marit. I used to have several pale blue irises, they seem to have disappeared also had white and yellow - both gone.
DeleteThe irises are similar to Dutch irises. I've tried those here too, but they never come back, Margaret. Maybe they are annual irises.
DeleteMystery rose blooming through winter is a real treat for the bees and for you alike
ReplyDeleteIt is a mystery that rose flower however one lady has named it :) yes bees were there rather early which is good.
DeleteThose flowers are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary.
DeleteIt's nice to see colour happening in the gardens of others when I don't have one of my own.
ReplyDeleteOh Andrew, that is nice of you to say. Getting a bit long in the tooth to do the gardening, we are managing.
DeleteSuch pretty flowers
ReplyDeleteThank you Jo-Anne.
DeleteMany years ago I published this posthttps://norma2-siempreesprimavera-norma2.blogspot.com/2011/09/tulipan-en-primavera.html
ReplyDeleteMargaret did not expect to achieve such a good result
I read your post - thanks for the link. Beautiful tulips and information.

Thank you.
DeleteWow. The purples ones are the best.
ReplyDeleteI like the blue/purple one of my favourite colours.
DeleteIt's lovely to see your flowers when they have mostly gone to sleep here. Thanks for sharing them Margaret :) Love your four leave clover at the bottom of the page.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise.
DeleteIs it a Rose of Sharon?
ReplyDeleteThank you and I believe you are right. We once couldn't buy the plant buts it's been available for a while now.
DeleteWonderful! I do love Rose of Sharon. Where I used to live there was one right outside my office window. Soooo peaceful.
DeleteI just love all of your flowers ... lovely to see.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan.
DeleteLindas flores. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you J.P.
DeleteThe flowers are beautiful. Shame the storms and wind challenged them to stay perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat's true Diane, the wind always comes and blows the flowers off or bends the stems over.
DeleteIs that a rose of Sharon? That is a type of hibiscus, I planted some hibiscus seeds recently. Or it is a mallow?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the name, I believe you are correct. The flowers are the same online as mine. No not a mallow, that flower looks different. I hope your seeds do well.
DeleteIs that first one a rose hibiscus? Or as Terra says a type of Mallow?
ReplyDeleteIt's a rose hibiscus as the flowers online as the same, so not a mallow R. Thank you.
DeleteHow can one daffodil flower have petals with two totally different colours?
ReplyDeleteClever is nature Hels. They the daffodils have been bred to do that, also there are many varieties that I once had of different yellows, orange and whites but they have disappeared over time.
DeleteUnas composiciones florales de gran belleza, amiga
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ildefonso.
DeleteWhat beautiful photos, Margaret!
ReplyDeleteI love the irises the most.
Greetings Irma
Thank you Irma. I love Irises, very beautiful flower.
DeleteThose tulips are to die for! All of the flowers look great. I keep forgetting it's Spring there. Hugs from the north....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coloured tulip that one, the yellow ones didn't flower, next year I'm sure they will. It's a rather windy spring so far. Hugs from the South.
DeleteI was struck more by your native wattle than the other flowers, but they are all gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI can understand that David, the other flowers are more common I expect, wattle is not up your way.
DeleteBeautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne.
DeleteAs flores também encantam muita gente e eu não fujo à regra.
ReplyDeleteAbraço de amizade.
Juvenal Nunes
Thank you. I think flowers speak all languages like music.
DeleteCertainly beautiful flowers. You have green fingers.
ReplyDeleteLovely sunny day here at Terrigal.

Thank you Colin. 'Just say it with flowers'.
DeleteIt's important that all children/teenagers and adults can swim in Australia.
There are board lessons which is a good idea. Yes, school has changed quite a lot since you and I went to school..
Ciao Margharet un veloce saluto, a presto Angelo.
ReplyDeleteHello Angelo - thank you and greetings to you too.
DeleteBeautiful photos. I also love flowers.
ReplyDeleteBest regards, and I invite you to see my new painting :)
Thank you.
DeleteWonderful flowers. What an incredible color your tulip has!
ReplyDeleteIrises are such beautiful flowers that bring color and joy to the places where they are found. ❤️
I've never seen a daffodil of that color before.
A deep red and yes, it's a good colour, Maria.
DeleteDown here there are daffodil combinations but unfortunately lost them.
I fiori sono bellissimi e hanno bisogno di tante cure, ma quando nascono ti regalano dei colori fantastici
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stefania. Always lovely to see them popping out of the ground and then they burst into beautiful colours.
DeleteI hope you have a great day!

Thank you and you too.
DeleteI love the mix of tulips, irises, and daffodils especially that vibrant daffodil. It’s always a bit of a puzzle remembering plant names, but it’s clear your flowers are thriving with all your care.
ReplyDeleteAll lovely colours in the garden.
DeleteThank you Melody.
Lovely flowers 👌
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashok.
DeleteQue flores tan bonitas y tan bien fotografiadas, Margaret! me gusta como las has captado.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Thank you Jordi.
DeleteI believe your first picture is a Rose of Sharon. The can be a rosie color, white, or lavender and the bees LOVE them. I have all 3 colors in my yard. Mine bloom here in Ohio (the midwest in the states) in the late summer and well into fall. All your pictures are gorgeous. It's nice to see flowers now, as mine are long since gone for the season. Been enjoying visiting everyone on my blog list to catch up, as it's been too many months since I've blogged. It feels good to get back into it.
ReplyDeleteSandy's Space. Also, I believe the Rose of Sharon is in the same family as an Hibiscus.
Thank you Sandy. Good you are blogging again, also nice to have a rest from it once in a while. I'm thrilled you commented :)
DeleteI bet your Rose of Sharon's look good in those colours. Ours needs pruning, it was in the front garden and husband put it in the back one as it became too big for the front.
Take care..
Great article and beautiful pic. Have a nice weekend ok
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicky, you too.
DeleteTolle Farben von den Blüten.
ReplyDeleteGruß
Noke
Me encantan tus flores Margaret, tengo alguna iguales que las tuyas, pero ahora están durmiendo hasta la primavera. Besos.
