Ben Lomond taken through the window at home here in Launceston, Tasmania. There certainly has been some good snowfalls in the mountains and high country in Tasmania this winter, however none here at home as usual. Now we are in spring the wind has come with days being a little warmer but the wind makes you feel cold.
Cradle Mountain above and below which is along the northwest coast and inland. There is a Hotel and a caravan park there and a bus shuttle that takes you to the base of the mountain to take walks on different paths in the area but not advised when the weather isn't the best. The photo below when there is not snow on Cradle Mountain. I borrowed Cradle Mountain with snow and the photos below which we all taken in the high country. The photo without snow is mine.
Beautiful and captivating photos, Margaret. I love ❤️ winter and snow ❄️ Your photo with the blue 💙 and reflections is stunning.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda.
DeleteStunning photos, Margaret. It's almost the end of summer here, with very high temperatures and a lot of heat. Seeing these snowfalls and beautiful landscapes is a real pleasure.
ReplyDeleteBest regards.
Thank you. Looking at photos of snow when it's warm weather seems to help us keep cool.
DeleteBeautiful photos of the mountains with snow. You have a very short winter where you live. I wish it was like that here too. Enjoy the spring!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marit. I think we have a long winter :)
DeleteMargaret, over here today is September 21st, spring begins and although it rained all night, today is somewhat better. The youth, no matter what, is preparing to celebrate it. A hug
ReplyDeleteSpring here also as it's the 22 September, but we always say 1st September for some weird reason, maybe people can't wait.
DeleteGot to have rain as long as it's not too much. Beautiful day here today.
Hello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteWow, it's already snowing :)
It's still raining very little in Türkiye, but I enjoyed seeing the snowy landscapes. Thank you for sharing the wonderful photos with us. Happy Sunday. ♥
You are welcome. Yes, it snows in many areas of Australia inland in the mountains or high country.
DeleteVery soon we will have a rigorous and long winter.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great view from your window.
Wonderful view from our windows on the eastern side of the house, but often it's taken for granted. We think we have a long winters :)
DeleteWhat magnificent views!
ReplyDeleteYes a lovely view, Angie.
DeleteI love all of the shots however, that first one with the snow/fence. That's my most fave.
ReplyDeleteYes it is nice photo that one, it's an interesting one, more so than the others.
DeleteAwesome views! I love seeing the snow covered trees and bridge, they are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice photo that one.
DeleteStunning views!!! I know I am showing my ignorance but I never think there is snow in Australia. I need to do a bit more research on that. The snow photos are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise. Many places and areas have snow in Australia, people ski in the mountains in NSW = New South Wales, Victoria, Canberra and of course Tasmania. There has been snowfalls in mostly the higher towns this year.
DeleteYour photos capture Tasmania’s rugged beauty so well with the contrast of snow-dusted peaks and spring winds that bring the landscape to life
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm not aware of who took these photos of the snow as it didn't say, but full credit to whoever did.
DeleteGreat photos. My sister's eldest daughter and my God Child went there for her
ReplyDeleteend of year "party" instead of that wretched "Gold Coast" which becomes a Policeman's nightmare with the drugs and nakedness etc etc.
She was there with a couple of girlfriends and they got lost!!!
Anyhow found and given a "lecture".
Must have sunk in as she did incredibly at the University of Sydney.
God honours in a course which I didn't think girls would touch - "SEWERAGE
Waste " . She wrote a book on it - details incredible and now is a book
for students. She was also selected form Uni students to go to NASA in the
USA for a course!
Must have inherited my "brains" ( JOKE )!!!!!
Lovely sunny day here in Terrigal and over the weekend so plenty in
the surf.
Cheers
Colin
Pity about my spelling!!!
DeleteColin
Don't be concerned about the spelling, I make mistakes all the time unfortunately.
DeleteMy your Godchild has done well for herself, and yes, many people do get lost here in Tasmania especially those walking in mountainous areas in the wrong weather, even in summer it can happen that they wander of the beaten track. Most are found, thank goodness.
Beautiful sunny day here too, Colin.
The snow covered landscapes are rather spectacular to look at, but how do the locals keep warm?
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are Hels. People keep warm with wood as in open fires, wood heaters, gas heaters (a bit expensive) or Electricity as in Heat Pumps which are reverse cycle ones - heat in winter, A/C in summer - simple. Some people have their houses ducted as we do with the latter. So every room you go into is warm in winter or cool in summer.
DeleteWow, it all looks so beautiful when covered in snow. I think you feel colder when you can see snow on the mountains.
ReplyDeleteYes, certainly feels colder when you see snow, Andrew. Lovely photos someone took, and I have no idea who did, full credit to them.
DeleteEverything looks so very different with snow on it.
Love your photos and am glad to see snow, but also glad to not live there. Adelaide is plenty cold enough for me! I like the wattle in your header.
ReplyDeleteThanks re wattle, lovely flower and it's still blooming in the bush areas, R.
DeleteWell the snow is up in the high country so therefore doesn't effect us only if a southerly wind/breeze and if it's really blowing the wind is very cold when snow is about.
Hello Margaret
ReplyDeleteSometimes I forget that everything is the other way around for you. I'm waiting for autumn, the days are getting shorter, while for you the days are longer and it's almost spring...
Australian snow is new to me. I didn't think it was snowing, although it is in the mountains, but it is. Wonderful pictures, picturesque and beautiful, a wonderful winter.
I'm slowly looking forward to a colorful autumn, and I hope it will be beautiful.
Best regards.
Not always easy to remember that the other side of the world id very different as in seasons, think I'm used to it now and will look forward to you lovely autumn photos. A lot of areas in Australia had snow this season for longer and more often.
DeleteSuch pretty photos of the snow
ReplyDeleteFor sure Jo-Anne, we here in Australia are not always used to seeing so much snow in a season.
DeleteBeautiful images with that snow! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you Bill.
DeleteI would love to return to Tasmania.
ReplyDeleteAs it's said David, 'come on down'.
DeleteBeautiful photos of the snow, Margaret, I also think the landscape is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's autumn now, and the weather is still nice here.
Greetings Irma
Thank you Irma. Credit to whoever took them. Still a bit cool here due to the wind with snow about it cuts you in half nearly..lol
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne.
DeleteSo beautiful 😍
ReplyDeleteIt is and thank you.
DeleteMargaret, hermosas fotografías nevadas, me gustan todas, que belleza nos ofrece la naturaleza.
ReplyDeleteMaravilloso post.
Besos
Que tengas un hermoso día
Thank you and nature is magic.
DeleteI can't get to your site, for some reason it blocks me..
DeleteWonderful photos! We're only just heading into autumn here in Wales, though we did have a little early frost this morning.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nikki. Love a frosty morning and I reckon as we head into spring we may still have one or two frost left this season.
DeleteBellas imagenes. Amo la nieve. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you, J.P. I don't get to the snow.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing to see so many snow. It gives fantastic views and wonderful pictures as these. Well done!!
Here the summer is just ended. The colder autumn days are already on their way. But let's wait for the snow. Brrr..!!
Many greetings,
Marco
Thank you Marco. Enjoy your autumn and I guess it's a bit hard to get used to the snow, the first time in the winter.
DeleteStunning pictures Margaret, I love how snow makes every where beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Benita and snow certainly changes what we see.
DeleteQue bonitas imagens. Tem uma vista incrível da sua janela.
ReplyDeleteParecem autênticos postais!

Thank you.
DeleteWow these pictures are incredible.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteBeautiful landscape and photographs.
ReplyDeleteFunny how the snowy ones make me feel a little chilly :)
Enjoy your September Spring days ... the colours here in my part of an Autumnal UK are turning colour and the acorns and leaves are falling quite rapidly!
All the best Jan
Your autumn sounds beautiful Jan, winter will be there soon so keep warm.
DeleteThank you.
That sure is nice, it's still hot here.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Getting warmer here slowly.
DeleteThe whales are going north for the summer and to give birth to the new ones!
ReplyDeleteThey are a fair way out but you can still see them breaching and blowing the water up. Quite fantastic.
Lovely and sunny here.
More baby wood ducks - one mother went past with uncontrollable ducklings this morning.
I counted 14 of them. BUT the plovers, magpies and the wretched pommie (???)
mynah birds just kill them - horrible.
We can but hope???????
Cheers
Colin
Oh that's not good the ducklings get killed I expect some live out of so many.
DeleteYes, it is wonderful to see the whales breaching and so on - have seen for myself, nature is amazing, Colin.
Wonderful photos ❤️
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, the two photos of Cradle Mountain with and without snow.
Fantastic winter photos.
Many greetings,
Maria
Thank you Maria.
Juvenal Nunes
Thank you, Juvenal. Australia being a vast country has many climates from Tropical down to Temperate where I live.
DeleteUnas imagenes de naturaleza de espectacular belleza. Felicidades por ellas, amiga
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ildefonso.
DeleteSchöne Bilder aber ohne Schnee ist es für eine Wanderung besser.
ReplyDeleteGruß
Noke
