Hollybank

Hollybank is about 30 minutes from home.  I have taken photo's at Hollybank and done posts before and all are different, this time once again they photos are different again.
There is a cricket pitch, barbecue, fireplaces, toilet and tall trees, plenty of bush to go bushwalking, and of course birds.
There is Holly as well, the last photo.

Fungi, never seen any other variety there.

  1. The underwood is very beautiful. It looks like a holly plant in your photo. Is that correct? Take care.

  2. Margaret, I see a lovely place to walk, soak up some winter sun, and even stop for a cup of tea. On my blog, I show you where I'm spending my winter break: hot chocolate and churros.

  10. There's a nice tunnel effect along the road in the first photo.
At times it is very obvious which mushrooms to leave alone.

    1. Yes, a tunnel effect for sure and in some places on the way the trees nearly meet from both sides of the road.
Yes, we will leave those mushroom alone. I had mushrooms in my dinner this evening and I'm still here...lol Ones from the supermarket :)

    1. Yes a different colour of fungi, fascinating are mushrooms, and those ones are best left there. When I lived on a farm first 8 years of marriage I often went mushrooming and would cook them for dinner same evening.

  12. Oh be careful - they might be like those "mushrooms" served up
for a family "meal" - rather fatal and not good for the "Maggie-Beer" of
    REAL cooking fame!
    Enjoy voting AGAIN.
Off to beach front to read the Murdock RAG and watch people freezing
in the water - no surf here for the last week after the storm.
    Cheers

    2. Yes your election results in Tassie are always strange - your system
being different to the rest of Australia - HARE CLARK??????????????
Maybe the Tassie Tigers have something to answer for?????
      Gotta blame someone or something.
      Lovely day here.

  17. The bushwalking part is what appeals to me the most. If I were able to do it my challenge now would be to find other kinds of fungi! Have a great weekend. David

  18. Excellent idea keeping a forest reserve relatively close to a major city. I hope families take their children there, to enjoys days completely different from normal life.

Lovely spot for a gentle walk and picnic.
Since its only half an hour away, you must go there often?

    1. Liam, we used to go there often when our sons were small, now go at least once a year to take photos and have a little walk, very peaceful there in late autumn, winter and early spring at weekend.
