This coming Thursday is a very special day for my husband and myself. On May 1, 1965 we were married in the Catholic Church, the Church of Apostles here in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia at 11 am by two Priests.
Therefore, it's our 60th Wedding Anniversary.
We were teenagers at the time and my studies were completed in my profession, but I was too young to practice, that came later.
We had 150 guests at the church and at the Wedding Reception of which my parents paid for including the drinks.
Nearly 16 years later we had our first son followed by our second son 11 months later.
Why the delay?
Natures way!
All good things come to those who wait.
This week on the April 27, was youngest sons birthday followed on April 29, eldest sons birthday. Two days the same age.
I will take a break from blogging for celebrations with family and friends.
Oh, what a wonderful day! Congratulations to both of you.
ReplyDelete60 years.. excellent. Do you feel you have both become wiser over the decades, more patient and more forgiving?
ReplyDeleteI really can't think of anything we each had to forgive Hels, neither of us held a grudge against each other or others. I'm a very patient person, and my husband isn't but has learnt to be to a degree.
DeleteWiser, oh yes for sure we are wiser, comes with age and living life, observing and listening.
Congratulations on your anniversary!

Can I be nosy and ask how you both met? From the same town?
Liam, we met at the private hospital, he was visiting a patient with his friend (the boyfriend of the patient) and I went to school with that patient. I was not on duty that evening and also visiting the patient. He was from a country town near the city, it took several months before we had our first date - study and exams for me.
DeleteOh ein schönes Jubiläum Herzlichen Glückwunsch. Wünsche schöne Tage mit der Familie. Mein Sohn hat am 28.April Geburtstag.
