To Mt Barrow

It's a long time since I have shown photos of Mt. Barrow not far from where we live.  It's about a 40 minute drive and 1413 meters above sea level.  Snow falls once in awhile in Winter but is usually gone the next day. TV towers are up there plus various other towers.
Late last year we headed to the mountain for just a drive, we were late going up and thought someone might lock the gate as it was getting towards 5pm at that time of ascending the small mountain.
Sunset was approaching on the way down so we kept our fingers crossed we could descend without being locked up the mountain.  All was good.
There are quite a few photos so it might take two more posts to show you the scenery up there and on the way down.
If you click on the Location text at the end of this post it will take you to the map of Mt. Barrow.

    1. Thank you Donna. Odd though it may seems to us a mountain always has rocks, yet, some mountains in Australia hardly have any visible rocks - strange.

  9. The mountains are covered with lots of rocks. The weather condition there must be very severe.

    1. Yes, lots of rocks, most mountains in Tasmania have rocks, some more than others so therefore to me a mountain has rocks, yet some don't in some areas of Australia. The weather is not harsh on that mountain as it doesn't snow there often at all, but of course it would be cold and windy in winter but not a lot of minuses.

    1. It is lovely scenery in my book too Denise. Well, I'm sure there is a phone number to ring, probably the Parks and Wildlife or the Police, the latter would find out who has the key if that gate was ever closed. I should imagine if it snowed up there a real lot the gate would be closed, probably not safe to drive up there.

Ciao a presto Angelo.

  23. Thanks for sharing your adventure to Mt. Barrow! It sounds like a beautiful drive with stunning views, especially as the sun was setting. It's always a bit nerve-wracking when you're up against closing times, but I'm glad you made it down without any issues. Looking forward to seeing more photos of the scenery up there and on the way down. By the way, be sure to check out my latest blog post!
