Maingon Bay Lookout

Near Port Arthur way down south partly on the Eastern side of the Island of Tasmania is Maingon Lookout.  Just a beautiful view and the sea is wonderful, the colour amazing, looking towards those ruggered cliffs so tall where the seals sunbake in the sun and so on.
One can walk to the Maingon Blowhole but the path was closed.

  2. Margaret regularly read what you tell us about the landscapes of your Tasmania. I always had a desire to know Australia since that time in the 70s when many Argentines emigrated to that continent, which they say is very similar to our soil and climate since 180 million years ago Australia was united to South America.

    1. Yes South America was attached to Australia way back and certainly would have similarities in some areas of both countries as New Zealand has. Sometimes we get curious about these things.
One day you might get to Australia.

  9. That was one crackingly good day. The sea is a little darker blue than the Mediterranean but a very good imitation. What a wonderful place to visit.

  11. Magnificent scenery and weather but I wonder what it would look like
with "The Roaring Forties" at full strength? Not so placid, eh?

  12. Wonderful--- I would love to be there, just for the weekend. By the way, 8 locomotives in front and 3 trailing-- and the route is flat. They were probably delivering some engines someplace for maintenance-- with a 2 man crew!

    1. I doubt it Pauline. One could go back there hopefully in good weather to find the walking track still closed after making phone calls to find if it was open again..
