The Bluff

A view along the walkway and riding bike track at Devonport, Tasmania.  Little rocks everywhere and no one swims in this area.
The second photo is the view from the above and looks towards 'The Bluff Caravan Park', the little beach and picnic area.
We stayed here at the caravan park for another two weeks before heading home in March..
The sea is Bass Strait.

The caravan park called 'The Bluff Caravan Park' in Devonport which is owned by the council and managed by good managers who live in a house in the caravan park.
The ship below is heading into the mouth of the Mersey River at Devonport, Tasmania and the ship is the ferry that carries cars and passengers to Melbourne, Victoria's port which will be changed later this year to Geelong, Victoria. The trip takes all night and sometimes there are sailings during the day in the busier times.
The remaining views are taken with my mobile phone from our caravan site.

Amazing the caravan park is nearly empty in the mornings only to be full in the evenings. The amenities on the right, on the roof solar hotwater.

  1. Looks like a wonderful place to camp. Hubby and I used to camp, but I now say my dance card is full, lol. We slept in sleeping bags in a small pup style tent, and I'm not young enough to want to do that anymore. If and when he ever actually retires he would like to get a camper...I'm not holding my breath on that scenario. Got you added to my blog list.

    1. I think camping in tents and sleeping on the ground is more for younger people than an oldie like my husband and I. It's a different way of life for sure.
Hopefully you get your wish when you retire.
      Have added you too.

  2. I admire adventurous people like yourself. Always on the road. I believe I would miss my home even though I love to travel and don't mind being away for a month or so. : )

    1. After a while you do miss home Catarina. We now stay home in winter but travel in the warmer months on this Island coming home for a few weeks then off again.

  9. It's good that you two can do this-- to be able to spend time away, but still take your lives with you.

    1. We are indeed fortunate to be able to have the best of two worlds, but time will come when we will have to stay home and not go. Probably just stay at Motel/Hotel for a few days instead.

    1. It sure is, one of my favourite places in Tasmania is Friendly Beaches but there are not many places to park the caravan due to it being a National Park.

  12. Lovely photos again Margaret. The names are also always fun to see. I lived near Devonport in Devonshire, England many, many years ago. Here is a link:

    1. Thanks Denise. There are so many names in Tasmania that are the same as in England and Ireland too, even Scotland.

  18. Hello Margaret.
There are hot days in Poland and a look at such places with water and beautiful clouds is something you just need to relax. You have a great time, I like such places, small, intimate and with a relaxing atmosphere.
