    1. Thanks Bill. I'm glad I took these photos too. Always nice to know what was there once. Thought black and white was fitting for old buildings.

  5. I like the old houses in your B&W photos! They've been demolished for a good cause - growing of crops.

    1. Canola was about to come into flower where the house were, so a good thing the farmer was going it, and the paddock looked so much nicer without the falling houses there.
      Thanks Duta.

What you are doing will be wonderful when you get it all done, but then it's never finished I suppose.

  10. Old buildings are much better in monochrome and these were wonderful to see, Margaret. Nile looks like it was quite an interesting place in earlier times.

    1. I should imagine more people lived there back in the day, and yes, a busy town I expect.

    1. It is a pity but the houses were left to ruin unfortunately. I expect the old folk moved elsewhere, someone bought their land and didn't want the houses, or maybe they owner left the land to their children and they didn't want the houses..

  14. It's good to get those pictures when you can. You never know if the old buildings will be there next time. A much photographed old house in north central Oregon was lost to a wildfire a couple of years back. I still see it used in ads. I'm glad I got my pictures....

    1. Agree with you, it's all part of our history no matter where we live.
Interesting to see that ad with the burnt down house - that is even worse to have a burnt house burn to the ground.

  19. Мне тоже нравятся фотографии старых домов - печально, что они разрушаются. Но даже в этом разрушении есть своё очарование.
В своём сообщении сегодня я публикую старое фото острога, в котором отбывал каторгу писатель Достоевский.

  24. Hello Margaret
Such places always arouse curiosity and have their rich history, deserted and quiet, and once bustling with life. You could say ... something starts sometime and has to end sometime.
