The Cricket and football ground, grandstand and change rooms at Huonville. Next door is a swimming pool. Then we have the War Memorial which is a lovely one.
Miss E with a Christmas Beetle, we don't often see one of these.
Children going to the beach/river.
We called into Ross in the midlands on the way home to buy a Scallop Pie and Vanilla Slice - yummy.
Preciosas imágenes. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa.
DeleteThat's a big tree in the last photo. Scallop pie sounds great.
ReplyDeleteLovely scallop pies they have there.
DeleteIt would be a rather old tree.
We have been seeing less Christmas beetles too. They used to be common and are now rare.
ReplyDeleteScallop pie? I have never even heard of them this way.
Just a normal pie filled with scallops and of course a bit of curry - rather tasty.
DeleteTe gusta viajar y eso lo notan tus reportajes, Margaret.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Yes Jordi, love to travel about and see what is offering, also like to stay at home too...a bit of both.
DeleteWonderful photoes Margaret!!Beautiful little bug as well :))))
ReplyDeleteOh yes, they are lovely little bugs and not as plentiful these days.
DeleteThank you.
El escarabajo, tiene un brillo dorado, que llama mucho la atención.
ReplyDeleteMe gusta el verdor que tiene estas fotografías.
Besos
Pretty beetle.
DeleteThe grass was green down there when we were there and I expect it still is.
I like the photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.
DeleteThe area looks so clean and neat.
ReplyDeleteNo, we don't see many Christmas beetles now.
Hardly ever see a Christmas beetle anymore, once I wouldn't have taken a photo of one but because it's more rare these days I took one.
DeleteIt's always clean neat and tidy, the park man does an excellent job along with his two mate who help him.
Scallop Pie and Vanilla Slice - that does sound yummy.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Very yummy Jan. Not often do we indulge.
DeleteBellas escenas de un lugar que emite placidez
ReplyDeleteUn saludo
Thanks.
DeleteI had not realized that Christmas Beetles were so green and glossy.
ReplyDeleteThe gloss is seen easier when the sun is bright. Due to the lack of their habitat they are in decline.
DeleteLooks like a great place. Interesting Christmas Beetles. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteLovely place, the beetle is an interesting creature, I was reading about it.
DeleteLovely photos and place. I like all except the Christmas Beetle.. :) Huiii.
ReplyDeleteYes a nice place. The beetle won't hurt :)
DeleteBefore I say anything Margaret, I love your rose header shot. So pretty! Always very interesting to see your part of the world. That’s a pretty beetle with its shiny coat, and the buildings are very nice. Cute ones of the kids going down to the river. The structure with the cross on the top reminds me of one in my old home town in England. The Scallop Pie and Vanilla Slice sounds very yummy. Never had scallops in a pie before and would like to try that. Thanks for sharing all these great photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks re rose header, a rose called peace which we don't have anymore in our garden unfortunately.
DeleteThe Memorial was probably built on the style of English ones.
Nice pictures Margaret.
ReplyDeleteNice places. And what a special insect.
In the Netherlands it will be snow very hard this comiing night. I'm curious.
Warm regards,
Marco
Thanks Marco.
DeleteHopefully we will see your photos of the snow once again.
Boy! Christmas beetles are rare these days. I've not seen one in ages. Not like we did when I was a kid...come around Christmas time and they lived up to their name by their presence.
ReplyDeleteTake good care. :)
They did, they were everywhere once those Christmas Beetles...shame they are disappearing.
DeleteMe gusta el lugar y la torre de la cruz. Bellísima la rosa de la cabecera
ReplyDeleteBuen fin de semana Margaret. Cuídate.
Un abrazo.
It's a lovely looking War Memorial Laura.
DeleteLovely to see the nice weather and looks like folks were heading to a beach area. Here we have snow covering the ground and cold temps. The beetle in Miss E's hand looks like what we would call a Japanese beetle and they were devastating to flowers.
ReplyDeleteYes those Christmas Beetles do look like the Japanese ones, but they have 6 stuffs of white hairs each side of their abdomen apparently - looked it up as I was curious.
DeleteYes, those Japanese ones do cause destruction as do our Christmas Beetles to the roots of 'things' apparently.
I like scallop, too. Happy Sunday to you.
ReplyDeleteAre good - we love them in this house.
DeleteVery nice area!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is Natalie.
DeleteWonderful places, great photos.
ReplyDeleteI had never seen this insect, how beautiful it is.
Greetings and hugs
Thanks Maria.
