Haven't travelled anywhere since the beginning of April, just a day trip here and there.
I still have photos from other trips in Tasmania that I will show you.
It's Tulip time in Tasmania.
The photos were taken a few years back at a Tulip Farm on Table Cape on the North West Coast. Could go again this year but be nothing new to see, just more tulips and probably a few new varieties in a different paddock.
The tulips are grown and exported to the Netherlands - yes, that's true!
Will do a few post on the tulips.
Some of you might recall the place called Wynyard and the photos from that post you can see Table Cape from the beach in the distance.
Tulips are always a good topic to talk about. They are stunning.
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are in more ways than one.
DeleteWow! The tulips are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see so many.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteA great and colorful post. Wonderful all these flowers.
Greetings, Marco
Thanks Marco..
DeleteJak ślicznie :)
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed.
DeleteNice with all those tulips! We dont have such here in Norway(I mean so many! :)i thought only the Netherlands had so much tulips, so surprised to read they are exported to the country
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
As far as I'm aware we only have the one place with all of these tulips growing on the Island.
DeleteTulips are loved all over the world. These are absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day.
Thanks Bill.
DeleteThey certainly are beautiful these tulips and any tulip is for that matter.
I would love to see fields and fields of tulips. They put my garden display to shame.
ReplyDeleteWell most of us can only have a few in our garden but it is nice to see them growing on mass, such colour.
DeleteAunque no se viaje, siempre hay imágenes gurdadas en los archivos del ordenador.
ReplyDeleteSon preciosos los tulipanes y los colores muy vistosos.
Besos
Yes, I agree, always photos somewhere on the computer, hard drives or whatever..
DeleteThey are oh so pretty
ReplyDeleteAgree with you Jo-Anne.
DeleteThe tulips are glorious and interesting that we export them to Amsterdam.
ReplyDeleteIt is rather amazing that we do export them to the Netherlands, it's been happening for a fair while I believe.
DeleteBellisimos esos campos que nos brindas, amiga
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo
It is amazing standing there in the middle of the tulips and every way you turn there is a mass of colour..
DeleteGadzooks! They moved Holland to the Southern Hemisphere! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWell just for this month they moved :)
DeleteWow,these are amazing!
ReplyDeleteYes they are wonderful Natalia.
Deletesuch a beautiful post dear Margaret
ReplyDeleteyour images lightened up my day at once :)))
i think Netherland is biggest exporter of flowers in the world
i am so glad you shared your old photos :)
That is good Baili that the photos brightened up your day :)
DeleteYes, Baili, the Netherlands does export the most flowers in this world.
Bellísmo Margaret. Es una alegría para la vista.
ReplyDeleteBuen viernes. Cuídate.
Un abrazo.
Thanks and they are lovely to see in person.
DeleteMy favourite kind of flower. We have a festival for them in May.
ReplyDeleteThey are a beautiful bulb and flowers and I've heard of the festival over your way/Canada. We have a festival here too which should be on at the moment but it's not due to the virus :)
DeleteOf course, I knew about tulip fields in the Netherlands and have even seen William Kendalls' posts about the annual festival in May but never knew they grew in Tasmania as well. Such stunningly beautiful colors and I was wondering if many remain in the country for sale vs. being exported.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly do remain here for sale - and they are bloody expensive.
DeleteThey are not too cheap in Holland either, if my memory serves me right!
Colin
The flowers are sold here, well some of them. Bulbs you also can purchase but as Colin stated, they are expensive due to most of them being different.
DeleteMagnificent - have seen the annual display in Canberra. Forget what it is called.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a case of "eat your hearts out Holland".
Love the new name for some Tassie sporting team - "Jumping Jacks".
Should scare the living daylights out of the opposition. I wouldn't want a heap of those damn insects on my torso!
Colin
I believe it's Jack Jumpers Colin, haven't seen any for years, nasty bite/sting.
DeleteFloriade it's called in Canberra where they have many kinds of flowers displayed in patterns I believe but not this year.
It is eat your heart out Holland :)we grow them too and some for you!
There are so many and so beautiful. I would love to see that, maybe one day. Exporting to Holland, that's like we export camels to Saudi Arabia.
ReplyDeleteYes it is similar Diane the exporting.
DeleteLovely standing there amid the tulips, didn't know where to begin with taking photos :)
Gosh Margaret, how wonderful! Your tulips shots are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise.
DeleteA True Field Of Dreams
ReplyDeleteCheers
Indeed.
DeleteWhat dream, fields of Tulips, love them.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely.
DeleteSe ven preciosos Margaret, me encantan. Muchos besos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa, something lovely about tulips.
DeleteStunning! And to think that these tulips are exported to Holland, the mother of tulips!
ReplyDeleteYes, I was shocked a little to know they were exported..
DeleteOh, Wow! The tulips are just so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan.
DeleteOi oi, so wonderful. I have thought that tulips are only in Nederland...
ReplyDeleteI believe most people do only think of them being in Netherlands on such a large scale.
