We saw these cars along with many more in the Museum at Bathurst next door to the racing circuit.
A link to more information about Peter Brock
My late Dad had 'sidecar' but a Harley Davidson one when I was very little and I loved riding in it. Mum would be sitting as she should and I would be down in the front.
I really like the 27 car
ReplyDeleteLooks rather neat Adam.
DeleteWonderful exhibition and the cars are amazing to look at. Greetings.
ReplyDeleteCertainly worth seeing in person.
DeleteComo evolucina el tiempo, Margaret! Este reportage bien nos lo muestra. Buen trabajo!
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Thanks Jordi, thought the men would be interested more so than the women in these cars.
DeleteThat really is a fine exhibition! The mini reminded me of "The Italian Job" with Michael Caine
ReplyDeleteYes of course, Michael Caine. I used to own a mini it was a good little car to drive back and forward to work, park it anywhere.
Deletegreat choice of cars
ReplyDeleteThanks Gosia.
DeleteSon vistosos esos coches antiguos en una bonita exposición.
ReplyDeleteBesos
They are indeed, lots of different colours and bright so they could be seen on the racing circuit.
DeleteEine schöne Sammlung von Rennwagen.
ReplyDeleteNoke
I was amazed at how good it was to see them all in one place, and looked after so well.
DeleteWe often went to the Mount Panorama race track - but mostly to watch the bike races rather than the cars. And the sidecar races were spectacular always.
ReplyDeleteGreat memories then :)
DeleteI like the blue car 88. That is a fine exhibition.
ReplyDeleteThat's an oldie but also nice to see.
DeleteHe died relatively young considering how long people live today.
ReplyDeleteYes he did David. Died in a Targa Rally in Western Australia.
DeleteI really like car museums and have been through a few of them
ReplyDeleteWe have one here Jo-Anne but haven't ventured into it as yet.
DeleteWe were only talking about motorbike sidecars today and how we remembered our parents having them. It is a fab museum. Did you drive around the track too??
ReplyDeleteYes we did drive around the track which he have done each time we've been to Bathurst, took video this time, it's not that interesting in the video.
DeleteGreat photos of the cars. My favourite to drive would be the Mini. I've never been in a motorbike sidecar. My loss. I want to be Clarissa and have a Jennifer to driver me. Ok, not everyone will get that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_Fat_Ladies
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew we were not in a rush that day.
DeleteAlways loved my mini as I did my MGB.
Those two where good entertainment :)
Great motors, gas guzzlers. My dad used motorbike sidecar, he fell off!
ReplyDeleteOh did your dad, hope he didn't hurt himself when he fell..
Deletewow! Interesting cars!
ReplyDeleteThey are interesting Sussi as it's part of Australia's history.
DeleteHow wonderful that your dad had a Harley with a sidecar and you got to ride in it! I rode on the back of a Harley exactly once but never in a sidecar.
ReplyDeleteGuess I was lucky - the Harley was my dads mode of transport when I was ever so young :) I remember it being such fun.
DeleteCar racing has never excited me. I saw Peter Brock once when he drove through someplace I was living at the time and I can't even remember where or when.
ReplyDeleteWe all like different things but at least you have heard of him :)
DeleteWhat a great selection of colourful vehicles, lovely.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
