Home!

After 4. 1/2 months we arrived home safely via the Spirit of Tasmania with an excellent smooth sailing across Bass Strait.
Had a couple of things go wrong on the holiday, leaking sink in the bathroom, and a flat tyre on the caravan the latter happening just two days before sailing.

Family of 5 are still in our house so things are rather cramped.

Took the photos with my phone below of the Port of Melbourne as we waited to board the ship.
Melbourne, Victoria.

The sand was very clean and silky.

A cruise ship and the red ship is the Spirit of Tasmania.

A few High Risers.

Driving onto the ship.

    1. It is a long time Adam, but travelling and site seeing, window shopping, new people to meet time soon flies. Don't think I would like to go for longer though as many people do.

  8. I can't believe I don't know that short jetty in the third last photo. I certainly know everything else in the photos. Two cruise ships have arrived this morning and will stay two nights for the Melbourne Cup.

    1. The short jetty was taken from the jetty whilst we were inline to board the ship. The jetty is to the east of Station Pier.
      Hope that helps.
Now those cruise ships would generate some money into Melbourne.

  10. My parents took the Spirit of Tasmania when then went over to Tassie, Tim and I flew over when we went dad so liked going across via the ship that he started thinking taking a cruise wouldn't be that bad and of course when we went on a cruise earlier in the year he loved it which is why we are going again next year. Love the photos

  12. Home Sweet Home! You've been on the move so long, you probably feel as if you are still in motion. I'm sure it is good to get home to family and friends.

  14. That's a spiffy looking dining room. I've never seen the Port of Melbourne, I love looking at cruise ships, they make me think of opulence and extravagance, things the super-wealthy take for granted. They do in the movies anyway.
I hope you get your home to yourself soon, for some quiet time.

    1. It is a nice dinning room and rather large at that.
Grandeur for sure in those cruise ships according to the TV..
Lots of cooking and cleaning with 5 others in the house, let alone the washing - hard to get mine done! I don't mind though.

  18. If they are the only two problems you had on an extended road trip like that I think you did very well. And if you are still talking to each other, even better!
