Punchbowl, Launceston. Tasmania.

The Punchbowl is just a few klm from home.  It's a great area for family picnics, with gas barbecues, swings and things for the children, along with a big pond and a large grassed area for cricket and football, even soccer, table and chairs to sit on.

Took one of the grandchildren there this week and these are some of the things we saw.

A few of the ducks which we are permitted to feed with bread.

    1. 'Tis peaceful. Don't know where the name comes from, it's different.

    1. Ideal place for children. There is a fence + gates so the children don't run out into the carpark.

  3. You seem to have plenty of nice parks not too far away from you. This one looks great.

    1. We have quite a few parks and most are not far from where I live. I live about 6klm from the centre of the city, about a 10 to 15 minute drive.

  4. Quite a lovely peaceful area!
What would be the use of putting a sign up in
a picnic area saying: "Do not feed the Ducks".?

I think areas where these wild and domesticated ducks
are in parks - World Wide - people seem to automatically throw
tit-bits to ducks on water! Signs in respect of feeding ducks are
    useless.
( However I most vigorously support signs that say "DO NOT FEED THE IBIS".)

Again on this Tasmanian cleanliness - I have yet to see on any and
I have gone back a long way in your previous reports - one scrap of
rubbish, one bloody filthy MacDonalds container, one discarded bottle
etc on any Tasmanian town photo!
    Cheers
    Colin

    1. No point in putting a sign up :)
Well those Ibis are a different matter!

That is lovely of you to go back into the previous posts of mine to view and see....I think most people put rubbish in the bins provided.

    1. The colours of autumn are indeed good but most of those trees the produce those autumn shades are not natives of Tasmania...
