Deloraine Reflections! Tasmania, Australia.

Just love a reflection in the water so able to capture a few of these at the Meander River at Deloraine recently.
Deloraine is about 50 km from Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.

The area was explored in 1821 by Captain Roland, who was searching for farmland.  The land was granted to new settlers, and the town is now a major agricultural centre, with a large number of farms of all types in the area.

Deloraine has won Tidy Town many times, and it's a pleasure to visit.
Below are some photos of reflections on the Meander River.

  1. Janice, these are magnificent photos! I can see myself enjoying a lovely walk in this area, sitting on a bench and reading a book, and just enjoying the beauty all around. Thanks so much for sharing.

    1. You are welcome, It's really lovely there and seats to sit on in the shade, often under a large tree.

  3. Lovely gentle reflective photos Janice. To my eyes it looks more like a European summer shot than the dry landscapes we are used to from Australia. That must be the lovely temperate Tasmanian influence.

    1. Tasmania is greener in some ways than in many parts of Australia as a whole. Up north you don't often see green grass even in winter.

  5. Tassie - sure is different in topography. So idyllic in appearance. I'm not too good at tree
naming but those trees on the river bank look like "weeping willows??

  6. Willows are a pest species but how nice they look when draping their leaves into tranquil water.

  9. You have displayed Deloraine in such a manner that I just have to include it in our Tassie trip soon as we leave in just a couple of weeks now.
