On the way from Orange to Bathurst in New South Wales these photos show us the scenery in this rural area. Cobwebs were on the trees, thousands of cobwebs, this is just one. Then there was the frost, then fog. A most interesting drive as it was not a long one, about 45 to 50 minutes.
Orange NSW is not that far from Bathurst where the red flag is on the map. The photo above is Bathurst's main street and it was still foggy but then Bathurst is about 650 meters above sea level (2,130 feet) and yes it does snow there. Also Bathurst is where car racing is held. Touring Car Racing as well as GT Endurance car racing is held on Mount Panorama, Bathurst.
Seeing these photos—showing the frost and mist that form in the cold—is truly comforting, especially after coming out of a summer of intense heat.

Love those spiderwebs, Maria they were all along the highway, we stopped as no cars were coming so was able to take a photo. Was a good trip going in and out of the fog.

Quite a lot of top school colleges also in Bathurst.
All well here and we have 4 seasons in a day.
Mr and Mrs Duck are not amused and it must be soon when we have
a heap of undisciplined "brats" going all over the place and being killed by those
atrocious Minor birds!

Beautiful drive early in the morning it was Veronica. I had never seen such cobwebs before so a very different experience. Not a lot of people think about Australia being cold in some areas during winter, so it's good to post these photos so people can get an idea what it's like.

ReplyDeleteNo apparently not Hels, according to research snow appears in many areas, Stanthorpe QLD is another place that snow might appear but can be rare. I personally think that many Australians don't realize that many places/areas might have snow in winter, sometimes just fleeting by.

It did look rather strange seeing all those cobwebs Baili as they were rather large and the trees were covered in them, never seen so many before in one place.

DeleteDid you hear about the Los Angeles Rams? They flew in the day before playing the 49ers in Australia and weren't there 24 hours before they played. They lost terribly. They should have had you as a travel guide.
ReplyDeleteRuby, I did and watched a bit of it on the TV as it was broadcast to us too. They certainly didn't leave themselves a lot of time to recover the time difference. Hopefully they the RAMS will learn for next time.
