Glebe Garden is not far from the city of Launceston. It's a garden center and these photos are a few items that are sold there - more to come including the plants later.
Someone people have creative minds. The elephant greets my friend and I near the front door. We went to have a cup of coffee in the Cafe there. All these were carved/made with wood.

Those carvings are amazing, beautiful work by some talented artists.
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed amazing Bill. I was surprised to see them there.
DeleteSpecial artworks that decorate the garden. Hug, Andreja!
ReplyDeleteYes, rather special in the right garden.
DeleteThose some amazing artworks!! Thank you for sharing them with us, Margaret.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pleasure to share them, Angie. Something different and if in the right garden they would look amazing.
ReplyDeleteYes they are all made of wood. I love the horses heads the best.
DeleteI like those unusual artworks. Great post, Margaret!
ReplyDeleteThey are unusual, Giorgio.
DeleteDear Margaret, these carvings are so beautiful! Very creative art!
ReplyDeleteSome people are so talented, it must take hours and hours to carve and put together.
DeleteAll carved of wood. Very nice. We have a local park with large carvings. Very cool art form.
ReplyDeleteYes it is cool, I like wood carved into 'things'.
DeleteVery creative. A lot of talent involved...
ReplyDeleteDefinitely and it all looks good in the right places.
DeleteThese are very creative, lovely to see.
ReplyDeleteI like your blogger background.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan. The background is of Nandina berries in the snow which I found online and I made them into what I wanted.
DeleteThe first two indoor sculptures are so good, and the last very creative.
ReplyDeleteThey are good, Andrew. The horses look as if they have been carved of blackwood, but I don't know about the other.
DeleteLindas esculturas. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you J.P. Same to you.
DeleteThese wood carvings etc, remind me of my youth when I went to a wine and tourism town where German settlers migrated to - they were either Lutheran or Catholic.
ReplyDeleteFantastic restaurants with food, beer and wine that were of the "HAVE ME MORE BUT TAKE CARE" (ha ha) - I wobbled quite a lot and some of these German residents were in the Hospital system in New Guinea - especially the German pre-WW1 settlers
in the Morobe, Madang, New Britain (once New Germany) and the Sepik.
My tennis partner was the Doctor at Buganbi Hospital. - Dr. Mary Frinch - spelling ???
It was the TB hospital - you can google the doctor and her excellent book on her
time in Finschhafen/Buganbi area. Ah the history there - even the old ex-German Colonial Governor - used WW2 by the Japanese General in charge of this area.
I have flown over what became SCARLET Beach - you should see the results - the Yanks TRIED to land there - told by the native guides of the Japanese - of course the
Yanks knew BETTER - utter carnage - ships, tanks, submarines, can be seen - now a scared area - Flown over only!
AH YES - memories of my days in the land of the "FUZZIE_ WUZZIES".
The good, the bad, the ugly but what memories!
Thanks
Colin
Beach - flat as a pancake - again!
So my post brought back some memories for you Colin. Thanks for the information, will look it all up will keep me going for the evening.
DeleteThese are amazing! I used to wish I had some sort of talent, but these days I'm happy to just look.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, I will admire these sculptures with such detail, R.
DeleteI love the horse in the last picture!
ReplyDeleteA lot of imagination in that one, Bill.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful works of art these are.
These woodcarvings are really beautiful, I love them.
All the best, Irma
They are good Irma. I was totally surprised to see them there.
DeleteThe wood carvings are very nice, Margaret! I especially liked those horse heads. It must be a lot of fun to be able to create such figures out of wood.
ReplyDeleteThe horses are wonderful and I'm a bit like you, it's magic to see these.
Hanka
You are welcome. That's a good idea making things out of things that are not wanted anymore and displaying them.
DeleteThanks, blogger has a glitch so will go and read your new post :)
Did you succumb and buy something to take home?
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't buy a thing only a cup of coffee with my friend and she shouted it. They do sell ladies scarved and I could have bought one of those but didn't. I've got good control, David.😁
DeleteHello Margaret
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed, beautiful sculptures with great ingenuity and creativity.
Coffee always tastes better in such an artistic setting, and it certainly drinks and tastes much better.
Warmest regards.
It's been rainy here all day today :)
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSão peças muito artísticas e de boa qualidade.
ReplyDeleteAbraço de amizade.
