Tasmania, which is an island, does have islands. Bruny Island is but one down south. Beautiful scenery, lovely beachs and many walks can be done.
Many people live on Bruny Island and catch the ferry across to Kettering each day and home again in the evening if they work on Mainland Tasmania. However, there are many crossings during the day. There is a north and south island, the south island being hilly.Years ago whaling was the industry down there, today they have beautiful fresh oysters, farming and tourism. Also a National park, lots of beautiful birds and so on. The building is a toilet.
I'm showing photos of Cloudy Bay which is below Cockle Creek, see map.
I always check my comment area...crazy how people that have commented forever, end up in the spam folder!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous area!!
hugs
Donna
Yes it is a lovely area, Donna.
DeleteSure is strange when people go into the spam, you would think it would be fixed.
Margaret, I like to travel and I always check the tourism page, but I never see anything related to Australia. Are there any offers to visit any of the beautiful regions of Argentina?
ReplyDeleteNo, Norma no offers on the TV or in our news, or online, never see any to visit your country. I haven't checked a tourist page as yet, will look into it.
DeleteNorma 2.
DeleteThey are daily flights from EZE ( Buenos Aires) - with Lan Chile and Air New Zealand with the stopover in Auckland (NZ). I also think Qantas is going to re-open it's former link to EZE.
Colin
Beautiful view.
ReplyDeleteIt is, Anne. Thank you.
DeleteGosh, so much of Tasmania is picturesque 😊
ReplyDeleteThat's so true, Liam. Around every corner there is a beautiful scene 😎and there are many corners/bends.
DeleteI hope I get to visit one day.
DeleteIt's so far away!
Yes it is a long way from where you are but plenty of people do come, maybe one day you will.
DeleteIs Bruny Island a colder and perhaps windier place to live than mainland Tasmania?
ReplyDeleteBruny Island would be about the same temperature as Hobart, Hels maybe a degree cooler in the summer sometime. When I've been to Bruny Island I found the weather mild, not too windy but of course any coastal town or area can be very windy at times.
DeleteFor some reason your comments on my blog often wind up in spam. I rescue them.
ReplyDeleteTasmania is beautiful. Thank you for sharing its wonders.
Thank you for rescuing me, I need it sometimes..lol EC.
DeleteYou are welcome.
Beautiful views! I always check my spam before and after I'm blogging. Very annoying that we have to do that with blogger.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill. Most annoying as sometimes spam can take awhile to remove from spam, comments don't take that long.
DeleteA cloudy day gives its charm
ReplyDeleteIt does, rather clouds than none.
DeleteTasmania looks so beautiful, I did enjoy your photographs.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the week ahead.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan.
DeleteI spent three days on Bruny Island. Wish it had been three weeks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place David, and the birds are a plenty.
DeleteCertainly a bleak day and I reckon would have to be a thick wind jacket day!
ReplyDeleteIs this area south of Hobart???
Cheers
Colin
PS: Another miracle here in Terrigal - 4 days of nice warm sunny weather
and the beach is packed as was the lagoon with paddle craft and kids
having the times of their lives - ah to be young again BUT with the loonies
in power in this worId I am not so sure.
The lagoon gets sea water when the tides are high. I have yet to see that going on
but maybe at night, dawn or dusk?
Bruny Island is south east of Hobart, Colin.
DeleteChalk you lovely days up then, it might rain tomorrow.
The lagoon sounds good, and yes, oh to be young again! However, it's good to be able to watch others having fun.
Travel series that make me happy to see all of the beutiful photos. It looks so windy...
ReplyDeleteBut all of the scenery are magnificent...greetings
Thank you Mbul. Was windy day that day and rough the sea was.

ReplyDeleteYes I remember Red Nomad, she put out a book of photos called, Loos with a view.
DeleteThat is a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is Catarina.
DeleteI checked my spam folder a few times a day, sometimes there are old comments suddenly there...no idea what happened to blogger...The bay looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie. Yes, sometimes comments are not there but appear the next day for the day before.
DeleteWhat beautiful pictures of Cloudy Bay.
ReplyDeleteTasmania looks beautiful.
I wish you a beautiful new week.
Greetings Irma
Thank you, Irma.
DeleteSeeing this cloudy bay, I remembered that I have Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins in "Bounty"--- I think I will watch it tomorrow. Nice shots-- even the outhouse.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill. Mel Gibson was ever so good looking when young and living in Australia. Enjoy your movies.
DeleteBellas imagenes,con cielos preciosos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ildefonso, I myself rather like clouds or threating clouds and skies.
DeleteEl mar se ve tranquilo, mientras el cielo aparece lleno de nubes. Me gusta esas nubes que has captado y lo bien que queda en ese precioso cielo.
ReplyDeleteQue tengas una buena semana. Un abrazo.
Thank you. I like clouds in photos but of course not always possible.
DeleteBeautiful photos. I've never been to Tasmania but I think I will go there someday. What fascinates me most is that you can meet animals there that cannot be found anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteGreetings and I invite you to see my new painting :)
That is true regarding the animals. Thank you.
