that's amazing M, i was only there last week boarding our cruise ship. the spirit of tasmania was in port too. i thought of you. lol. it's a fair way from the airport and i noticed lots of freeways that weren't there last time i was in melbourne many years ago. i imagine that the crossing can be a bit rough at times.
Well fancy that! Always changing with more roads and freeways, it's no wonder we have trouble at times going the right way. Do hope you had a lovely cruise.
We do feel like leaving again. We are not going across the sea this year, having a stay at home for winter but will travel Tasmania from home here once in awhile in winter which is not too far away. We have travelled over the sea about 16 or 17 times since the year 2000.
Bass Strait is my favourite shade of green, although it probably isn't always that colour. It's always lovely to be on the last leg home after a long trip.
Amazing is nature with regards the colours of the sea, always changing yet remaining similar colour. Always look forward to getting home. When you turn around to come back down it sinks in - oh on our way home!
The Pier building is a nice colour at least it's not a bright yellow or purple :) like those colours but not on houses - just my taste. The journey across the sea takes all night and it's one of the roughest stretches of water in this world.
All the sea was just sitting there for me to take a photo, but alas, taken out the winter - no where to park a caravan with vehicle, so photo was taken out the window.
Well documented travels for 2017. I hope all your viewers appreciated your efforts in showing the delights of Australia and what we have to offer. Funny how some think that we have "inland Bondi beaches" - ha ha!!!! Quite weird really. Hockey is very popular here in Terrigal with inter-school weekly competitions. Never tried the game.....I always thought of a ball smashing into my ankle.
Looking forward to "Team Davis" and the journey north for 2018. Cheers Colin
It's a long time to be away from home. But I believe you've enjoyed traveling every second. Your country is sooooo huge, beautiful and really interesting, and there is a lot to be seen. Have a nice weekend, Margaret.
Thank you very much. Certainly is a large country and so many gravel roads we haven't been on. Been on major roads throughout and many minor ones, but you never ever get to see the lot :)
Hi Margaret, I also love traveling but after some time it feels so good to come home. In the 3rd photo the sky is spectacular. Have a nice weekend Many greetings Maria de Divagar Sobre Tudo um Pouco
Nice building images.
ReplyDeleteThey do look ok.
DeleteI was just reminded that field hockey isn't really a thing here. Ice hockey yeah, but not much support for the summer version
ReplyDeleteHockey had a good following here in Tasmania as well as Victoria.
DeleteI am sure that you are looking forward to being back home after your long journey.
ReplyDeleteAlways look forward to going home after being away for 3 months and more..
DeleteNice feeling to these--- It appears to have been a bit windy.
ReplyDeleteIt was rather windy on that day, the sea was rough also.
DeleteDespués de un largo viaje, siempre apetece volver a casa.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Oh that is very true - was nice to get home last year.
DeleteI like the signs with estimated times of arrival.
ReplyDeleteIt's different, those signs are scattered along the highway in the State of Victoria.
DeleteYou were blessed with beautiful blue skies!
ReplyDeleteWas a lovely day apart from the wind.
DeleteHow ever much I have enjoyed a trip away, I always feel a bit excited to be on the 'homeward stretch'.
ReplyDeleteIt is an exciting time coming home - to say and think, 'we made it' :)
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Deletegreat place, Thanks for your support
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteI often think of you doing what you are doing.
Bad day for freeway traffic by the look of it.
ReplyDeleteWasn't too bad coming along the highway, was rather windy by the sea though and a rough trip across but we were ok.

DeleteIt must be a nice feeling to look across the strait and know you will be home soon.
ReplyDeleteIt is Diane after being away for so long.
DeleteHome sweet home! I know the feeling. Then we feel like leaving again...
ReplyDelete:)
When is your next trip? :)
We do feel like leaving again.

Uh! You couldn't cross that road for a shot or two of the ocean. I mean, after all, that's what it's sitting there for.

ReplyDeleteThanks Bob.
DeleteYou certainly have covered a lot of area, Margaret...seen so much of our beautiful country....and I thank you for sharing your travels with us.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome Lee.
DeleteOur country is indeed beautiful and varied scenery from east to west, north to south.
