Churches of Ross

Ross has 3 Churches.
Ross Uniting Church was built in 1885 and is noted for it's Blackwood pews.

The steps are well worn to the entrance of the Uniting Church.

The Catholic Church which was once a store and converted in the 1920's to a Gothic Revival style.
The inside is extremely dark making a photo impossible without a tripod.

St. Johns Anglican Church built in 1868 and contains a 100 year old organ.  The church was closed so hence no photos of the inside.

  2. They are beautiful. A shame to close a historic church built so beautifully in stone. There must be something can be done with it. The photo of the Catholic church from a distance is exquisite!

  5. Think of the feet that have worn and polished the church step. The light fittings are simple and very nice, often being found in institutions and banks.

That step was really noticeable it got me thinking how many people have walked on it over the years..

  6. I really like the interior of the first church, so different from the ones I know.

All three have a pretty good exterior architecture.

    1. The 3 churches are well kept as in exterior. The two that were open also well kept, but the first one is awesome inside..

  7. The last church remind me a little of the Arts and Crafts style, and it appears to fit in with that period from its dates.

    1. Rosemary, we have many churches in various towns, cities with similarities to the last church. No doubt built around the same time...

  10. Lovely churches Margaret. They have a nice scale to them, in keeping with the town they are in. That top entrance is beautiful!
