Photo taken at Lake Leak in mid north/eastern Tasmania. My husband and I were just passing through at that time. A great use for unused telephone boxes.
Lake Leak is a fishing area with lots of little 'shack'.

A letter box at Ross, Tasmania, Australia.
Some people here turn the old red telephone boxes into shower cubicles.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a brilliant idea, never thought of that.
DeleteWonderful photos! The telephone boxes are like our old pay phones here. They have become obsolete here too with modern technology!
ReplyDeleteThe times people have changed then.
DeleteI love those ! Would enjoy putting an old one down on a farm trail then plant flowers around it ~ paint sign on it that says " Letters to Mother Nature" lol
ReplyDeleteNow that's a great idea...lol
DeleteNice to see the old letter box and telephone box!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteYou don't see these telephone boxes anymore in the street.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
No you don't, just in that one town as far as I know.
DeleteJust interesting at my place telephone boxes were grey and post boxes are red . But now when everybody has a mobile phone they are only old decorations in the streets. And what's more now people write text messages not letters. so just objects are definitely the past.
ReplyDeleteReally, yours were grey..and post boxes same colour.
DeleteYes, you are correct in what you say, same here.
I love to see how these look in other parts of the world!!! Thanks so much for sharing. We call them "phone booths" here in Montreal.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. Interesting 'booths' :)
Deleteyou never seen many phone booths here in America anymore. Cell phones have made them obsolete.
ReplyDeleteDon't see many here either Adam. Other technology these days.
DeleteNice red phone boxes - thats all I ever saw as a kid!

Hello Stewart...thanks for commenting :)
DeleteMe too.
I love these photos. When these were in use, no one would have believed that someday we would all carry our own phones in pockets!
ReplyDeleteYou are right on that Cynthia.
