Marmite's Return!

Oh it's been a very long time!
Marmite is what I used to have on my toast for breakfast every morning until the New Zealand earthquake in the city of Christchurch in early 2011. I posted [here] about not being able to purchase Marmite.
At last it's back on the Supermarket shelves just this week, so had my first taste since the previous supply ran out in January 2012. Yes, I remember because it was about the time I delivered my only grandson on the  side of the Motorway in Queensland :)

I know, too much butter underneath it.

  1. Oh M I am so happy for you I know how much you enjoy this. I did look for it in our specialty stores and found it but it was a little pricey and I was not sure if I would like it so I passed:) Hug xoxo G

  2. I think that marmite is one of those products that you need to grow up with. My youngest son still adores it and is prone to helping himself to a slice of toasted bread with butter and marmite at any time of the day, but he is still very slim.
I remember we had a German family staying with us on an exchange - at breakfast they tried the marmite, pulled a face and said "we would definitely not give this to our children."

  5. i'm happy for you too. it's a long time to be without it. as i stated on your previous post about this, i'm a vegetmite fan. i'm afraid i haven't noticed whether it's available here or not. i threw out my jar of vegemite recently as i never have it anymore and the jar was a few years old. i know it probably wouldn't go off. crazy i know. i was only saying the other day to my friend that i should take some to bali with me. it's $18 a jar over there. a real luxury item. :) enjoy your toast. it looks very tasty.
