Monday I set off to Devonport by myself in the car to fulfill an appointment with the Financial Advisor, just the yearly visit. I then called into the Graveyard and visited my parents at the Mersey Vale Memorial Park, then onto get something to eat, a seafood sandwich and had my own water, stopped on the side of the road and ate it. Then I drove around a bit deciding which way to go home, headed to Railton to Elizabeth Town and home. On the way down to Devonport there were traffic stops galore due to road works so going home they were avoided. It was 30 deg C..so a warm day, by the time I got home I'd done 250 km.
These photos were taken of the Don Heads a while back and the sea is Bass Strait. There are many walks to be had in that area.
A seafood sandwich sounds great to me.
ReplyDeleteIt was appertising as I was rather hundry having had breakfast ealier than I normally do David.
Delete250 km is still a long journey, but you did everything and it went well, that's what's important.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos.
Yes it's good to travel safely and arrive home in one piece as we say Maria.
DeleteThe journey didn't seem to be 250km but then with a good break inbetween I guess that's why.
Thank you.
Un día muy atareado y bien aprovechado. Has hecho unas bellas fotografías.
ReplyDeleteThank you. A day I did enjoy.
DeleteVery nice photos. Your journey must have been enjoyable. :)
ReplyDeleteOh it was good to get out by myself, that would have been the first time for a very long time.
DeleteSo beautiful! Did you take these with iphone?
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie. The photos were taken with the Nikon or the Canon, can't recall off hand as I often take the two cameras with me and of course my phone.
DeleteSuch great photos
ReplyDeleteThank you Jo-Anne.
DeleteThe town is where the ferries drop off passengers. Love the coast and the sky
ReplyDeleteYes that's correct, and it's a city now been one for awhile, but it's very small city and of course where I live it's a small city too but larger than Devonport.
DeleteThanks, it was a calm day. I used to own a house over looking the sea there and it was often calm and beautiful.
That was a big day out. The Bass Strait always looks so calm in your photos.
ReplyDeleteIt was calm that day Andrew, many days were calm there in Devonport when I lived and travelled there to take of my late Dad...always I seemed to choose lovely days.
DeleteSounds like a nice ramble around in the car on your own.
ReplyDeleteYes Rosemary, I did enjoy it.
DeleteI would definitely enjoy walking around this area, it's gorgeous! Thanks for the map too Margaret. Great photos as always!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome re map Denise, I often forget the map as the location is at the bottom of the post, but seeing I went two different ways I remembered the map :) Lovely to walk there you can go for a very long walk along the beach and sea front for several km or miles.
Delete250 km is a long journey.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs on your post.
All the best Jan
I suppose it is a fair distance, from where I live to Hobart down south it's only 200km.....lol.
DeleteThank you Jan.
Love the photos. I am my own financial advisor. I look in the purse and say "yep, no finances here" ha ha.
ReplyDeleteWell you must be doing a good job being your own financial advisor R...lol...the purse tells us what we have or have not got! :)
DeleteBeautiful photos of your trip.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a beautiful sunset.
Greetings Irma
Thank you Irma..
DeleteThe sandwich sounds yummy! That was quite the trip for you! Sounds like you had an enjoyable day out!

Donna
Lovely and tasty sandwich Donna. I did enjoy my journey, I should do it more often by myself.
DeleteHope all went well with your financial advisor and you received nothing but good news!
ReplyDeleteYes, all good news thank goodness....thanks.
DeleteLong drive! It's really beautiful there.
ReplyDeleteDidn't seem very long Anne probably because of the break in the middle of it.
DeleteThat sunset in the 3rd photo is really lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo many of the names on the map are English towns, even 'Devonport'. I think we should start collecting some royalties from Tasmania. hehe!!
Good luck with your financial advisor.
Thank you Liam.
DeleteMany towns named after England, Scotland and Ireland guess it reminded the early settlers of their native country. If you look on a map of Tasmania you will see so many names you are familiar with.. we here on the Island have the oldest golf course in Australia at Bothwell, Tasmania.
Great blog
ReplyDeleteThank you

Me encantaron tus fotografías. Un abrazo Margaret.
ReplyDeleteOnce again I can admire such wonderful views. You're right, these are perfect areas for long walks, especially when the sun is low above the horizon, then the effect is unique. The last photo is wonderful!
