The Spirit of Tasmania is the Ferry that takes Tasmanians across Bass Strait to Melbourne in Victoria. If taking your own car this is the way to go.
Not often am I in the right place at the right time to capture the Ferry coming up the Mersey River in Devonport, Tasmania, I was the other evening.
My first ride aboard a ferry was from Vancouver to Victoria Island. I was amazed at how many trucks, cars and buses were loaded inside. Good picture!
ReplyDeleteI wonder sometimes how they fit everyone vehicle on the lower decks, but they do.
DeleteGreat photos of the Spirit. She looks big when berthed at Station Pier, until a cruise liner is moored next to her. I haven't sighted her this morning, so another slow trip I suppose, and who would be surprised with this weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes, she does look huge until another comes which is larger, funny about that. I wonder sometimes why it's late to berth as it's happened to us a few times.
DeleteGreat photos of the ferry. I had to look at a map to put Tasmania/Melbourne/Devonport all together on my mind. I'm so much smarter because of the blogs I read! :-b
ReplyDeleteWell that was a good idea to look it up, that way you learn more. I too am always learning with blogs, it's good for the mind :)
DeleteI love ferries and every year I take ferry from Calais France to Dover England. So it is as big as yours and full of vehicles buses cars and big lorries..
ReplyDeleteSounds the same then, except to a different place.
