Kangaroo Fix

Kangaroos have lived Australia and are native to Australia for about 15 million years. The ancient ancestor has been traced back 24 million years to the Palaeopotorous - the starting point of all known kangaroo species.

They are a symbol of Australia and are featured on the country's coat of arms along with the Emu. Both creatures cannot go backwards - now that's interesting, maybe humans should do the same!

The photo I took of the two kangaroos was taken in a Zoo, and I often wonder when I look at the photo what these two are thinking.  Are they having a natter, is one of them sad - what do you think!

  14. Beautiful photo of the kangaroos.
They are having a private conversation, I say.
I didn't know that they can't go backwards, that would be god for people too, just going forwards and thinking, what lies behind you is past time and a waste of your energy to invest time in that.

  17. Did anyone set these two kangaroos up so that one is lightly resting an arm on the friend? If it is natural, it is a quiet, emotional expression of friendship or of family ties.

  23. That's an adorable picture of the Kangaroos and what very interesting animals they are and never knew they, like the emu, could not walk backwards. I always get into trouble when I do that, so I don't do that anymore. Thank you for the incredible history of their origins also Margaret. It's been a real treat to read this as I love kangaroos. I haven't seen one even at a zoo in a very long time. I also love your new header of all the mailboxes. Happy week to you!

  24. Oh! I didn't know that they can't go back, You're right, a person should also not look back and move forward in learning, development, and their dreams. And kangaroos, maybe they are just self-absorbed, out of sympathy for their company :)
