Up the Liffey

The other day we ventured up the Liffy, a small town nestled under one area of the Great Western Tiers.  In the 2nd and 3rd photo you can see a house which once belonged to Dr. Bob Brown a founder of the Green Party to do with Politics.  Much is written about him and you can read a little [ here ] if you are interested.
Liffey also has a beautiful waterfall but it's a climb plus a good walk from the bottom to get to the top, There is also good access from the top via Deloraine in the north west about 50 km from home here.

Part of the Great Western Tiers.

The above photo makes me wonder when people are going or coming around that corner too fast how they don't run into that tree!
The Liffey River which normally is flowing but it is summer still.

Photo of the falls off the internet.
When my husband and I were much, much younger we used to often visit the Liffey Falls, in those days there wasn't a road that was close to the falls so we used to climb up hills, slip back down, fall in the Liffey River but gosh we had fun.  No camera back then to document our trips.

Tasmanian Devil

Taz the Looney Tunes character follows the adventures of Taz the Tasmanian Devil in the land of Tazmania (based on Tasmania) as you can see Taz is not like the real Tasmanian Devil.

Tasmanian Devils are feisty creatures and are the largest carnivorous (meat-eating) marsupial in the world.  Tasmanian Devils live in Tasmania, and it's the only place where they are found in the wild.

These photos are oldish as we haven't visited anywhere where they can be seen at night, these pictures were taken in a Wildlife Park on the Island.   They are not cuddly and would bite you if they could.

Lavender farm.

Bridestowe Lavender Farm is not that far from home at Nabowla in the north east of the Island.  Many visitors go there each year in season when the lavender is in bloom but you can go anytime of the year.  I have posted photos of the Lavender Farm before but these are different photos except for one.  Most people that visit my blog wouldn't know this farm existed.
The Denny family from England settled in the Lilydale area, they brought with them Lavender seeds from the French Alps, Lavandula Angustifolia (the true French Lavender.) before their journey.  They chose Lilydale due to it's climate similar to where Lavender was grown in France.  Eventually the farm was moved to it's present site which is not that far from Lilydale.
The fields contain about 650,000 plants.  The total length of the rows is estimated to be 200km, (124m).

I can't comment on blogs as in reply for some reason on my laptop or tower computer, however there are just two that will permit me to, so I have to use my phone as I can't comment with my old phone, seems blogger is very fussy - so for me blogger has a glitch!

The Don Heads, Devonport.

Monday I set off to Devonport by myself in the car to fulfill an appointment with the Financial Advisor, just the yearly visit.  I then called into the Graveyard and visited my parents at the Mersey Vale Memorial Park, then onto get something to eat, a seafood sandwich and had my own water, stopped on the side of the road and ate it. Then I drove around a bit deciding which way to go home,  headed to Railton to Elizabeth Town and home.  On the way down to Devonport there were traffic stops galore due to road works so going home they were avoided.  It was 30 deg C..so a warm day, by the time I got home I'd done 250 km.

These photos were taken of the Don Heads a while back and the sea is Bass Strait. There are many walks to be had in that area.

Coles Beach just around the corner from the Don Heads.

The road I took to Devonport is in red/top then bottom road in red to come home.

The River

Beautiful day on Saturday not too hot, took my husband who is slowly improving for a drive to Evandale and back.  We stopped at the Lions Park down by the South Esk River where camping wasn't once permitted but it appears it is now.

The photos were taken with my phone.  There is a link of how the river looked back in the day, it's very different now as you can see.

Home made Pizza

Once and not that long ago I didn't care for Pizzas but I would eat a few pieces when my husband decided he would like one or two.  I thought to myself, why can't I make my own so I did.  Made the base and went from there.  The dough I cut into 3 pieces and freeze two for when we decided to have a pizza and I much prefer my own made ones.
We cook them in the Webber Barbecue on the Pizza stone.
Yes, sometimes we put pineapple on them, yes, I know it's not done in many places in this world but it's done at our house.
Just showing some of the pizzas I've made, all different and one is a seafood one, also some just before they went into the Webber barbecue.

My husband at present has pneumonia with a high temperature.  We spent from 8pm till 4am in the Emergency at the Hospital on Sunday/Monday evening/morning.  Three lots of Antiboitics all different drips/drugs whilst there, blood tests, chest xray and a CT Scan which the latter proved the diagnonis.  So now I am looking after him, more than usual, and to his own Doctor on Friday.
These photos were taken with my phone.

The Bee

Love to see Bees in the garden particularly on the plants.  This Lavender to me is a pretty one and we call it Spanish Lavender.  We used to have a fishpond in the back yard but it's long gone!
