The Fagus Tree
Tasmania's only deciduous tree is a Deciduous Beech (Fagus) found in Mt. Field, Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, you might mistake this endemic tree as a bush. It's not very tall, only two meters or less. Just happened to be there at the right time of year a few years back.
Years ago, and I mean years ago we along with a couple of friends used to stay in cabins in the snow up on the mountain near Mt. Field. What fun we had! From a post in 2013, it was long before that year when we went, just visit that link to see the cabin, us, cars and snow.

Barracks
The Barricks were built in 1834 and occupied from 1836. About forty convicts were assigned to Circular Head establishment in 1932 and by 1833 there were seventy-three. The old convict barracks at Stanley were used by the Van Diemens Land Co as quarters for the employed men in the early days. Unfortunately they are just in total ruin now.
A few photos of what is left and strangers are not permitted into the paddock to take photos, so these are taken from the side of the road.

At St. Helens, Tasmania
St. Helens is the largest town on the north east coast of Tasmania, Australia, on Georges Bay. The town is known for game fishing, renowned for it's oysters. It's about 160 km east of Launceston where I live. The road is rather windy to get there.
These photos were taken one time we stayed there in the caravan.

Jeep
The other day eldest son purchased a new Jeep from Hobart so my husband drove him down to the dealership in Hobart to collect the new vehicle, then back home. I personally love the colour, in my opinion it looks very nice...may he have many good trips in it.
