The Spit, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

From Hervey Bay to Ballina NSW we moved to the Sunshine Coast for a week.

The Spit is popular for swimming and various water activities, weddings and walks.  There are a few restaurants behind the spit but not a lot, most people eat at Mooloolaba, near the 3rd photo down.

The Spit is located in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.  It's easy to find with a lovely beach.  The surrounding area is not crash hot for a holiday place.

A Marina is not far from the Spit, and that blue building is part of Underwater World where by there are creatures of the sea housed there.

Back to the Holiday

The Sunshine Coast for me is not warm enough in winter. I was amazed and amused that several nights the weather was warmer where I live in Tasmania, Australia than on the Sunshine Coast.

Jessica Watson lives on the Sunshine Coast, she is the young teenager who sailed solo around the world a few years ago.

We were talking to a local man and the bank behind the fish was man made, behind that is the Murray River which at the time of passing through was swollen, a sign nearly covered over.  There was once a port & jetty when the steamships sailed up the Murray.
