We're off!

Up the highway early in the morning after driving off the ship on the first day of our holiday in July this year, we went through Benalla (1st photo taken from inside the vehicle at a round a bout.) then [ Holbrook ] the same as we did last year. The link if you would like to read about the submarine.
Had no idea which way we would go up north or where up north we would go, it was just getting on the highway in Melbourne and drive.

Benalla, Victoria

The last time we visited Benalla, Victoria was in 2014 and prior 2012,  I wanted to take a photo of the Catholic Church, so hence I did about 15 minutes before Mass began in 2014, this time we drove past Benalla. Repost of the Church.

St. Joseph's Church was built in 1908, with various internals added over the years including the pipe organ which I didn't get the chance to take a photo of.

Colonel Sir Ernest Edward "Weary" Dunlop, AC, CMG, OBE was an Australian surgeon who was renowned for his leadership while being held prisoner by the Japanese during World War II.
This statue is to Honour him.

Benalla, Victoria. Australia

Benalla is a small city about 188 km (120 mile) from Melbourne, in the State of Victoria, Australia.
We don't often travel through this lovely small city as it's a different way to where we want to go, but it's good to try and travel on a different road, even though it's sometimes criss crossing making the journey up north in winter to a warmer climate longer.
We prefer not to fly but to stay at motels about 400 to 500 km (248 -310 miles approx.) apart each day till we arrive at our destination.
