The bush

I've just had a birthday, yes, I'm a Taurus and next year will be a big birthday number, I'm planning on making it! 🤣🤣

Many, many moons ago my husband, my father, cousin and his then girlfriend whom he ended up marrying went to cut and collect wood for my parents.  I was about 20 years old as was my husband.
We took some food and a little barbecue to cook the sausages on.  We had the time of our lives.
My father decided it was time I learnt how to use a gun, so I did.  You see my father was a Policeman till he retired at 65 years of age. He lived till he was 90 and went totally blind long before he died.
These photos are from slides.
Guns are banned in Australia, exceptions are farmers, gun clubs, police and a few others.

Down in the Bush

Often we go for a drive into the bush just to see what is there or go a different way to some place, often we have to turn around and come back because we come across a gate that is locked in that bush.
The roads are often logging roads which means trucks go into or have been in the past to collect logs and taken them to be chipped at a mill somewhere within this State of Tasmania, Australia.  Wood chipping isn't a big thing these days and usually the logs are from trees planted some years ago.
The photos below are from one of our trips into the bush...
The first photo is of 'Man Ferns', (Dicksonia Antarctica).
The last photo some pretty foxgloves (Digitalis)

A back road to the East Coast!

About 2 years ago we headed towards the East Coast of Tasmania, Australia via a back country road.  My husband nearly always travels on roads he's never been on, so far we haven't been lost!
So I share a few photos showing one of these roads. These photos were taken in late May.

Now on the Highway on the East Coast of Tasmania, Australia.

The Bush on the way to Josef Chromy's Winery.

The Tasmanian Bush which I love to walk in when I can. I took some photos on the way to Josef Chromy's Winery.
This time of year it's snake time, so it's not always advisable to walk without the correct shoes, clothing and to be ever watchful, as all the snakes in Tasmania are poisonous.
Josef fled his war-torn Czech village in 1950 as a penniless 19 year old after eleven years of Nazi and Soviet occupation. He escaped across borders guarded by minefields, dogs and soldiers, suffering five month of privation before immigrating to Australia. (copied from his website)
Josef has many awards for his wines from the Relbia Winery in Tasmania.

Black Swan - Australian Bush!

Today at a place called Jerilderie, NSW we stopped to have a bite to eat and I noticed a lone black swan on a lake. I have no idea why the tag is around it but it's there for obvious reasons.
Also at the same place is a bit of Aussie Bush.
