Renmark Sunset, South Australia.

Renmark South Australia is 1,220 km from home here in Launceston and of course taking the Ferry across the sea is necessary if you take your car or car and caravan as we did some years ago.  There are many places to stay, Hotel, Motel or a Caravan Park where we stayed, with the River Murray at our door.  

These photos were taken of the River Murray on one of our visits there looking towards one of the Hotels.  There are about 4,700 residents in the town and 10,274 people in the wider population. The photos are in order as taken. 

There are paddle steamers on the River Murray so a nice cruise can be taken.

Also grown in the area are citrus fruit, wine grapes, almonds, figs, cumquats, olives, persimmons, avocados, walnuts, pistachios and bush produce. 

Winter has finally arrived here in Launceston, Tasmania.

Sunset out the back door!

 Sitting doing comments on my blog list and looked out the window to see this ever so orange/red sunset about 8.30pm remembering our days are becoming shorter as we head into late summer, grabbed my Canon Camera and headed to the back door.  The photos are the result, and I moved further into the yard and captured a rainbow included in the sunset over the next door house to the east.

A sunset at Wynard

 Wynard is on the northwest coast of Tasmania, it's lovely little town and the hill is called Table Cape. Wynard has a tulip festival in the springtime.  Wynard has a sea view and many times we stayed in the caravan park there for a few days or more at a time.  This time I captured a calm sunset.

It's been cherry time here and we've been to the cherry orchard several times, these cherries are called Van.

Sunset at Geraldton, Western Australia

 There is something wonderful for me to see the sun go down behind the sea.  We see it here on our West Coast and the West Coast of Australia which is a long coastline.  The photos are taken on the beach near Geraldton in Western Australia on one of our visits there.

To Mt Barrow

It's a long time since I have shown photos of Mt. Barrow not far from where we live.  It's about a 40 minute drive and 1413 meters above sea level.  Snow falls once in awhile in Winter but is usually gone the next day. TV towers are up there plus various other towers. 

Late last year we headed to the mountain for just a drive, we were late going up and thought someone might lock the gate as it was getting towards 5pm at that time of ascending the small mountain. 

Sunset was approaching on the way down so we kept our fingers crossed we could descend without being locked up the mountain.  All was good.

There are quite a few photos so it might take two more posts to show you the scenery up there and on the way down.

Down by the sea at sunset

A sunset down by the sea at Wynyard on the north west coast of Tasmania, Australia.  The sea is Bass Strait.

Didn't get many sunset photos due to the weather, most nights it was very cloudy at Huonville.

We've stayed many times in our caravan at Wynyard on the North West Coast of Tasmania, Australia.  Now the caravan park is closed due to the owners being elderly and not well.  Yes, we will have to find somewhere else to stay in that area as the town is a sweet one and has all those things one needs in a town.

Here are few photos which I've never shown before - a Sunset looking one way, then the other way along with a straight view ahead of the beach a few steps from the caravan park and Bass Strait, the sea.

A few things

This sunset was at Wynyard on the north west coast of Tasmania, Australia.  The fourth photo was taken in the caravan park in Wynard, you can just see part of the concrete slab where we were parked.  The sea can be seen so it's only a few steps to the beach.  Don't always get to take sunset photos because I'm usually cooking dinner or talking to someone. 

The rose is from the garden back in summer at home here, and the children are two of the grandchildren, the eldest one and the next one in age, both now teenagers.  The photos were taken here at home, the latter in the city park in our City of Launceston, Tasmania in 2016.

Sunset, Huonville

A sunset is always pleasant more so on a warm evening.  We were sitting outside watching and taking in the scenery, so snapped these shots at the caravan park.

Several nights there was a decent sunset one could view, this is one that I just happened to view, so hence the photo.

In the caravan 'Poppy' always has a few lollies hidden away in a drawer, the grandchildren know this :) so one morning Miss E came for a visit and Poppy gave her a few, so she put them in their colours and then in a packet - yes, she had clean hands, a must :)

 Cherries were $7.00 a kilo which is very cheap and they were beautiful. We bought these on our way back from Geeveston which is a town south of Huonville.

Forth River at Turners Beach.

The Forth River flowing into Bass Strait.  Just around the corner is a small village called Turners Beach, there is a caravan park there. We used to stay a lot at the caravan park not in busy times and towards the end of our lease and when we no longer had the Garden Centre, if Staff needed us at the weekend we were not far away, that's before we retired!  In those days we had another caravan which served us well.

 

Even though I was a Registered Nurse for several years and nursing I made a career change and joined my husband in his work that being a Nurseryman and Horticulturist. We had a Garden Centre and Nursey, sold Giftware and all manner of things. The people that owned the building and business my husband had managed it for many years, the day it opened in fact then together we leased that business for several years. We worked long hours 7 days a week and rarely took holidays. 

I loved it, similar to nursing in one way.

Now that garden centre and nursery is closed after many people leased it and then the building sold.

From memory our business was one of the first to have a 'homepage' on the internet :) Wonderful memories.

Turners Beach sunset.  Always can count on a reasonable sunset from this beach which I might add is rather pebbly.  Horses and riders sometimes ride along the beach, there are stairs from the caravan park to the beach.
