A bird on Good Friday.

I just love looking at the Northern Cardinal and had never seen one before until David up there in Canada put a photo on his blog showing this gorgeous bird.  Here is a link to a few photos of his of the bird on David's Blog.

I've been having 'fun' with AI with the help of Denise to begin with.

It's also Good Friday, so I did Jesus on the Cross in AI.

Jubilee Beach, Tasmania

Jubilee Beach is at Swansea, Tasmania, Australia on our east coast. This area is another pretty place and it was getting late in the evening so out came the camera to take a few photos.  I was rather surprised to see these colours as nothing looked bright getting toward the sunset and colours were unusual, well to me they were.  I haven't altered the colours, they are as they came out of the Nikon.  I just love the colours and as you can see it's all near enough the same scene at about 5 minute intervals.

A good place to eat.

We have frequented Villarett Gardens many times over the last several years for lunch.  It's in the Kimberley area behind Elizabeth Town in the northern area of Tasmania.  It's about 71km a 51 minute drive from home here.  Years ago the restaurant which is still licensed was attached to the house then a new restaurant was built a short walk up the hill on the property of 10 acres..   Many wedding receptions are held there and my hairdresser had hers there.

The gardens are beautifully manicured and certainly worth a walk through them.  These days the restaurant is only open from Friday at 10.30 am to 16.00 hours.  It was open for much longer but as the owners are older they have made the days and hours of opening much shorter.

Just and idea of the sweets provided on the menu.

Odd things!

You see some funny things at times.  I've collected a few 'things' as I'll call them and hope you enjoy.  So something very different from me today.

The Alpaca walking through the carpark at the supermarket down the road.  We have to remember this is a city, a suburb actually and I've never seen someone walking an Alpaca through the carpark in the middle of the day - makes me wonder just how far this pair have walked.  It took my fancy!  I just had to take a photo.

The sign above is in the lower eastern side of Tasmania.
The one below amuses me as there is no water!

This is an old sign meaning to look out and not run over a Tasmanian Devil if you should happen to see one or two.

The top sign is off the net as is the bottom one which is rather old.

Down by the sea at sunset

A sunset down by the sea at Wynyard on the north west coast of Tasmania, Australia.  The sea is Bass Strait.

Trees

Recent photos on our drive we came across these lovely trees with a lot of moss growing on them.  So I clicked away with my phone as I didn't take the digital camera.
A wet area but this last month February was a dry one.

Agfest in Tasmania

Agfest in Tasmania is a great occasion to see exhibts of a large proportion where people come from all over Tasmania and some parts of Australia to see. The Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania INC run the show and the website to view all about it is [ here ]

It's held in early May and we have been many times in the past.  I found these two photo from way back where by the farmer is showing us in the field how they used to plow years ago.  I remember my grandfather doing this and it was intersting to see once again.

How we have all come a long way with digital photography since these photos were taken about 20 years ago or more, amazing.
