Beautiful couple of sunny late Autumn days so yesterday I took our 4th Grandchild for a walk in the afternoon.
The sweet little one is 6 weeks old :) Her parents brought her to our house at 8am & came to pick her up at 6.30pm. I had to wake her to feed her each time during the day.
I don't often get the chance to babysit due to other commitments.

Pardoo, Western Australia
At Pardoo in Western Australia there is a Road House in the middle of 'nowhere', so it seems. Often destroyed by Cyclones and rebuilt over the years. It's a friendly place, it has to be because you don't see one person to talk to for such a long distance.
At Pardoo you can have a lovely light meal in the Licensed Restaurant , there is a grassed Caravan Park, plus other Accommodation. Having travelled on this Great Northern Highway a few times. 'Grass' is so wonderful to see and walk on after all the 'Bulldust'.
Pardoo is about 460km from Broome in WA, and 150km north of Port Headland.

Swan Hill
Travelling in Australia for us is great fun, the only problem is what road do we take that we haven't been on before. Now this is a huge country with many roads but most populated on the East Coast at various places. Having travelled Australia like many, for us most years since the year 2000 for up to 4 months at a time, yes, of course it's a problem on which road to travel as we hate travelling on the same road twice. (Since my mum passed on we now only go for one month due to me not being able to leave my father for any longer.)
One can go on different Hwy's or zigzag across, mainly from mid West to the East in certain places would be the best to describe it. Many a road is yet to be explored. In the Future hopefully!
Swan Hill is situated on the Murray Valley Highway, Victoria, Australia north west of Melbourne, Victoria.
Citrus trees galore growing on the farms plus Vineyards in and around this area.
We travelled up the Murray Valley Highway then onto the Sturt Highway to a place called Mildura.

Happy Mother's Day
A poem I wrote remembering my mother on Mother's Day.
Happy Mother's Day to all mums where Mother's Day is recognized today.
Happy Mother's Day to all mums where Mother's Day is recognized today.
And there I sat on the dusty old box My mind wandering back in the past, To the sweet lady that's in my locket. Complexion of peaches and cream, Eyes that always smiled, Colour bluer than the day time sky, Brighter than a star. She walked each path of life with pride, Head always held high, Always smiled, I thought of the sweet lady that's in my locket With the young one by her side. Today I remember her, today is her day, - I always remember her - For she is my mother, and I am that child, In the locket.

A Day Visit to Silverton, NSW
Silverton NSW, is located about 25 kms NW of Broken Hill and was once in the mid 1800's a mining town of about 3,000 people. Now a population of about 30 people, it varies. The roads are what we call bull-dust, red sandy soil that gets into every crevice of anything you own...remember the movie Mad Max! It's was not that far away that the movies were filmed, actually part of Silverton plus the Hotel was in the movie.
Silverton is in the outback of Australia and we had an opportunity to visit there a few years ago whilst staying at Broken Hill, a mining town in the outback.
The Silverton Jail, now a Museum.
A look alike Mad Max vehicle parked outside the Silverton Hotel.
Awesome and very different inside this Hotel, but alas I didn't take a photo.
We had a nice lunch here. Lovely and clean and good food.

Special Day
Wedding Anniversary today the 1st of May.
The photo was taken when I was 19 at the Church getting out of the vehicle.
A very different fashion for brides than today :)
