The sea

Just a few photos of the sea from the Highway on the Southern East Coast of Tasmania.  There are a few places that you can drive into and take a rest or visit the beach below.

A day drive

Whilst at Huonville at Christmas time 2019 we went for a few drives, this one was to find Rivers Edge another caravan park by the Huon River in the bush.  The views were taken on the way and then from the gate looking towards where the caravans were parked.

The photos give some idea of a rural scene down in the valley of Huonville, Tasmania.

 

A View

From the top of a hill near the caravan park is the view below.  This land is where tomatoes are grown in our winter, and in the second photo you can see a field of tomatoes growing from a distance.

Dust Haze at Bowen, Queensland.

There are several hills in Bowen where one can take in the views, so this I did.  On the day these photos were taken was a 'dust haze' blown to the east by the drought.   Normally one would be able to see out to sea clearly.  This 'dust haze' lasted several days.

Above photo is of the supermarket, a jeweller shop, variety store, hairdressers, a clothing shop.

The above photo there are some salt piles there in the distance.

On the hill. Tamworth NSW.

We stayed in Tamworth for a few nights which is north of Sandy Hollow. During our stay we went up a hill and took photos of the view of Tamworth.
The first photo is of the town clock.

Around Blayney

Blayney is a farming district and administrative centre not that far from Bathurst in NSW.  This is our first visit to the area.

Two photos at Woodstock, NSW

At Carcoar near Blayney a low cost caravan and motorhome park plus a wind farm near by.

Not far from Blayney, we stopped for a quick rest.

Rylstone NSW is where we stopped and went walking along the street and visiting an antique shop just for a look.

North of Barraba NSW

On the way to Warialda we came across a view which was beautiful with a lake and wind farm but there was no feed for the animals.
We saw a farmer carting water to his cattle and sheep - we saw several trucks carting water along the road, at this time we began to think there must be a big problem with no water, it wasn't till we arrived in Queensland that we were told there was a big drought.

View from Mt. Archer, Queensland

Mt. Archer National Park is 522 kilometres northwest of Brisbane.  It's the backdrop of the city of Rockhampton which marks the start of Tropical Queensland.
Mount Arches is 604 meters above sea level.  The park covers 4250 hectares of open forest and woolands.
There is a nice picnic area with a good sized car park which is sealed as the road is up to Mt. Archer.

Tamworth, NSW

Onward and upwards to Tamworth, NSW for a couple of nights. Never stayed in Tamworth but been through it several times on our way to somewhere else.

Tamworth is a city in northeast New South Wales known for the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival, which draws big-name international acts. Tamworth has about 42,000 people living in and in surroundings areas.

On 9 November 1888, Tamworth became the first location in Australia to have electric street lighting powered by a municipally owned power station, giving the city the title of "First City of Light".
The first streetlights used in Australia were commercially owned in Waratah Tasmania in 1886.

The caravan park we stayed in was rather full due to the BATS, fruit bats, flying foxes that were hanging in the trees by the river which kept people away from the other couple of the caravan parks.  The city was really having great problems the time we were there.
A couple of species one species was protected.

Was still cold in Tamworth and winter woollies were certainly on. We rugged up went to the lookout, most places have a lookout.
