Black and white photos done in a HDR software program of which I've forgotten the name of, don't have it on my laptop must find it. So these photos were done a little while back.
The photos were taken in various places within Australia.
Accommodation, The Fox Hunters Return Hotel Campbell Town, Tasmania.
Australian War Memorial in Canberra, ACT. Australia. It's ANZAC Day here on April 25, 2024.
St. John Anglican Church, Launceston, Tasmania.
The Hobart Town Hall and a Street in Hobart, Tasmania.
Bischoff Hotel at Waratah, North Western Tasmania.
It often snows here in winter.
Margaret, thank you so much for sharing these black and white images that have a very particular charm.
ReplyDeleteThey are different Norma, always nice to have a change.
DeleteWow Beautiful photos. I really like them, it suits them, often black and white suits urban photos!
ReplyDeleteThat's true, once we didn't have a choice, it was black and white or nothing.
DeleteThey are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie.
DeleteWonderful photos
ReplyDeleteThank you Jo-Anne.
DeleteI find black and white photos very evocative. Our War Memorial is undergoing humungous restorations. It will look very different this year.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness re War Memorial, it's a beautiful building be interested to see new photos of it when done.
DeleteB+W conversion is very smooth! Love the looks of them all
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's a good programme that I used, still can't think of the name of it.
DeleteBellas fotos. Mi referida es la segunda. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThe War Memorial, black and white seem to fit it so well.
DeleteBlack and white photos can be so nice to view. Colour is real life but black and white photos are art. Waratah was where my paternal grandmother was born and I've never been there.
ReplyDeleteThat's true what you say Andrew.
DeleteWell fancy that - Waratah, not a lot there but a waterfall in the middle of the town which is unusual.
Anzac Day for me and I hope all Aussies is a very moving day.
ReplyDeleteI stay home - no more pubs to watch "TWO-UP" brawls anymore.
Thank God in our hotels we had none - banned for ever to enter
if they occurred!
I watch in sequence the following.
The Dawn Service in Canberra, then marches in various cities,
followed by the moving Dawn Service at Gallipoli, and then the
service at Villers Bretonneux in France. They are all so symbolic of
the spirit.
The black and white photos are excellent - well done Margaret.
Cheers
Colin
PS: It has actually stopped raining here - a miracle!!!!
A special day is ANZAC Day, some pubs have "two up" in some places, authorities turn a blind eye, in some places - always lovely to see it all on TV, ANZAC Day services, very moving Colin.
DeleteThank you.
Excellent pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you Catarina.
DeleteBlack and white often changes the whole mood of a photo. These are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true R. Thank you.
DeleteBlack and white photos have a special charm...
ReplyDeleteyou imagine the color individually. It is wonderful.
Beautiful photos.
Thank you.
A cheerful greeting goes to you. Have a nice week.
Viola
Thank you.
DeleteI really think B&W is better for showing textures and shapes. But both color and B&W can be works of art, even from the same shot. They simply tell different stories.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct on what you say Bill, always different.
DeleteLike all of the photos....especially the building design with twig background....it's cool...Have a nice day
ReplyDeleteThat one is the Chruch, and it looks good. Thank you.
DeleteVery good black and white photos have an extraordinary essence.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Best regards
Thank you Jose.
DeleteIo adoro le fotografie in bianco e nero, secondo me per certi aspetti rendono meglio di quelle a colori
ReplyDeleteThey certainly can look better but it does depend on the subject. Once we didn't have a choise, now we do which is good.
DeleteBlack-and-white images evoke history somehow. These pictures are quite stunning.
ReplyDeleteI suppose because once there were only black and white photos so that's in the past as is history, just a thought. Thank you.
DeleteSchöne Bilder Schwaz-weiß-Bilder haben eine eigene Stimmung.
ReplyDeleteGruß
Noke
They do have a mood and feel of their own Noke.

All the best Jan
That is a beautiful modern building in my book Jan.

ReplyDeleteYes Niki, certainly makes some photos so much better in Black and White.
DeleteFantastic photos in b&w ❤️
ReplyDeleteI especially liked the photo of St. John Anglican Church.
Yes it is a lovely church inside and out Maria. Hard to get a good shot of it in summer due to the trees, when the leaves have fallen it's better.

ReplyDeleteThank you Nasreen.
Deletewow these are some really spectacular images dear Margaret !
ReplyDeletei don't think that black and white will loose it's charm for looking eyes ever :)

Muy buenas imagenes en BN de estos interesantes edificios.

Coloured photos may be best for humans, animals and gardens etc, but architecture can be more striking in black and white.
