The beach area is popular with tourist many young ones for it's climate and the beach which is rather nice.
Last year when there I took lovely photos of the beach but can't find them - seems I've deleted them accidentally! Oh well, never mind.
The main shopping area of Airlie Beach is at Cannonvale a few klm before you get to Airlie Beach.
A few accommodation places, there are many more.
The main beach which is very nice with palm trees, places to sit and have a barbecue and so on..
Below is another little beach just around the corner from the first beach.
It really does look idyllic.
ReplyDeleteVery peaceful there that day.
DeleteMargaret, suas fotos me
ReplyDeleteencantam, garota.
Um beijo e parabéns pelo
trabalho.
Thank you.
DeleteOtra buena población, para disfrutar en las vavaciones. Son muy bonitas las fotos.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Thank you.
DeleteThat is a beautiful beach! I believe I would enjoy spending a whole month there.
ReplyDeleteWould be good if you could.
DeleteI suspect I would prefer it in the 'off' season, but it does look inviting.
ReplyDeleteNot busy the days we were there which is rather odd. You could even get parked in the street but it was late afternoon.
Deletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful place
DeleteI do love beaches and this one is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteRather nice sand too Bill. Nice to see you back.
DeleteNice beach
ReplyDeleteIt is Adam.
DeleteIt does look like a very relaxing place to spend some time.
ReplyDeleteEverything one needs is not far away.
DeleteQue bien sienta ver el mar cuando se tiene lejos Margeret.
ReplyDeletePreciosa playa.
Un abrazo.
We usually head towards the sea when we are up higher as in Northern of Australia.
DeleteIt is a millionaires 'play ground'.
ReplyDeleteThe yachts tell that story and an apartment on those mind blowing
hills overlooking the "passage" costs $$$$$$$$$$$ !!!
It truly is idyllic.
Oh those pool parties at South Molle VERY late were "sans attire" - both genders!
Unfortunately they came to an abrupt end when one bloke darn near killed himself on the slippery dip and that resulted in an emergency air ambulance trip to
I think Rockhampton Hospital. You don't run down slippery dips when you are 3/4 smashed.
Ah Margaret see what youthful fun you missed out on - ha ha!!!
Colin
Colin, you must have had a wonderful time back then - good on you, we only live once so best to enjoy.
DeletePoor fellow..
Expensive place to buy a house or an apartment.
Looks like a lovely place
ReplyDeleteIt is rather nice Jo-Anne.
DeleteA very nice beach, might have to go back there but not with a caravan. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLeave the van where you stay away from Airlie Beach then go for day trips, that's what we did and went several times.
DeleteAnother one of my previous stomping grounds.
ReplyDeleteA friend was Front Office Manager at the Coral Sea Resort...and her fellow was the Commodore at the Whitsunday Sailing Club, at Airlie Beach. They lived in a unit in the main street.
Not a bad place to live then, probably a bit noisy being in the main street.
DeleteNo...it wasn't noisy. The unit was at the rear of the building. This was back in the late 80s and early 90s. It probably is a lot different these days.
DeleteMagnums Bar...at the lower end of the Main Street made the best Margaritas!! :)
Ok. Many clubs down the main strip now...ah! so you enjoyed your Margaritas :) good one you.
DeleteIt is surprisingly tropical--- But then it's easy for us foreigners to forget how HUGE Australia is.
ReplyDeleteThat's true Bill, many people forget how large Australia is...it is tropical there.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteThis is so nice. What a great place to be. Wonderful pictures.
The last shot is so nice.
In the Netherlands it snowed last night.

Marco
