Conway Beach, Queensland.

Visited Conway Beach in Winter 2017 and we can see the aftermath of Cyclone Debbie back in March of that year.

  1. Those storms are truly vicious. Obviously a lot of rebuilding still to be done. I don't know what the insurance regulations are like in Queensland but in most parts of North America (if not all) where hurricanes and tornadoes are regular weather features your insurance has to be very specific in terms of its coverage, and even then the insurance company will try to find any loophole to avoid paying out. Floods and wildfires are also getting to be deadly annual events and I know that we just upgraded our insurance accordingly.

    1. I believe it's the same in Australia as you have said for your area - that's why it takes so long for the insurance companies to sort things out.

  3. Love those sky shots.

I love clouds almost as much as I love trees.

    1. Hopefully it all should be finished by the end of the year - cyclones are not good at all.

  7. Los ciclones son terribles y siempre proxucen destrozos, lo importante es que no se cobre víctimas humanas.

Me gustan las nubes que has captado.

  11. Cyclone damage aside, it looks like a nice area. What is the story behind all the coloured balls on the tree?

  13. Seeing your photos now, it is hard to believe that when they were taken 3-4 months after the cyclone that houses are still in that condition. I would have thought they would have been demolished quite quickly from a safety point of view.

    1. Insurance would be the key issue I expect, or if no insurance maybe the people can't afford to remove the remains.
